Just wondering if anyone else has gone through the process and is currently working at Monitor. I wanted to understand about the projects, hierarchy and overall culture at Monitor. I turned down the final round of interviews for a job with significantly more pay because I could tell I’d be working around the clock in a suboptimal culture. But I had the luxury of getting a job offer for a job with good pay, great hours, remote work, and a great culture. To be clear, if I hadn’t gotten the offer for my current job, I would have taken the job with more pay rather than staying with my prior dead-end job. But between the two, I’m happy with the choice I made.

Your mental health, thanks you and you have a role what you’re happy in.
It’s wise to not stop looking, until you start working these days.
I am very happy for you.
I feel like now more than ever companies are less so employee driven or wanting to truly provide a good work culture. Of course it’ll never be said out loud and the box will be shiny and pretty and gleaming with opportunity. But thankfully your mental olfactory sense is strong and could smell something rotting.
I’m glad to hear you’re doing something meaningful with your talents. Wishing you all the best!
Not accepting something for a gut feeling is a luxury I just don’t have right now. Amazing pay can outweigh culture sometimes.

That’s a fair point. If times were different then that’s another story.

Honestly speaking i don't think i would reject a good pay just yet based on gut feeling, because the feeling of being paid well would override my gut feelings, till i experience it first hand and then i can chart my course through it all.

The feeling of getting paid and taking care of things when it comes to bills and love ones (if you have any) often times is more important then gut feelings.
But, for how long ?

Yes just once and it was for a company with a sketchy CEO. Just didn’t feel right. The team seemed great tho

Wise.
Often times, if the CEO isn’t in the right mindset, then that will flow, throughout the company.
It starts from the top.
Keep your eyes open in this new age of looking for work and work.

Have I done it before? Yes. Would I do it now? No. A steady income and insurance would be a game changer for me right now. I'd still probably continue looking for another role in the mean time though.

Yeah, 2025 is crazy.
A steady income and insurance is next level.
Smart, the best time to look for a job, is when you have a job.
Good luck in this new age of work.
I wouldn't do it. I made that choice years ago and end up regretting it.

You were able to learn from the experience. I
hope things get better. ❤️🩹

I haven’t at this point in my career and in this job market we’re up in unemployed for almost 7 months, I can’t say that I would turn down the job based on company, culture team or values. I’d probably take the role and continue to search for a role more in alignment.
