Take a look at our job descriptions and you'll find very quickly you're coming in at a C level, not an M.
Do consider that our manager level is much more revenue-generating focused vs project execution-focused like EM/PL roles in MBB - expectations are quite different.
Promotion cycle below M: generally between 2-3 yrs
Joining at manager level is rare unless you have significant YOE and are bringing-solid value to the table
After Manager there is associate principal,for which minimum eligibility is 3 yr Manager(this does not apply to laterals joining at M level)
Assuming you’re able to come in at the manager level and not still the Consultant level, then yeah 3-5 years as Manager till Associate Principal
How likely one join as manager after MBA
Unless you have extensive YOE outside consulting I bet you would come in as consultant post-MBA, then ~3 years to manager then ~3-4 years to AP
Ok thanks all.. I have almost 10 years of exp in pharmaceuticals industry before MBA, +2 years consulting. Read consultant role description, sounded very entry level
@C3 - absolutely agree
experienced hire Ms aren't subject to the 3 year minimum tenure requirement before election to AP.
