I just got an offer from EY and managed to get 70% hike on the present compensation. However, role offered is of Associate Manager whereas currently I am working as a Manager in EVS. As EY HR is not reachable, could someone please share the hierarchy in EY GDS and li'l abt responsibilities of an Associate Manager, by this I mean wt % is team management, project execution and business development. Also, if EY GDS is working on remote model right now?

My group is hiring a senior tax accountant, but we've been coming up empty. Its a financial services company and the applicants are either over qualified or not enough YOE (min is 3, HR rules). I am thinking that we don't have a lot of applicants becuz we are hybrid working, instead of full remote? Is this a common problem? (No one applying to open positions)

People doing WFH from their hometown city don't want to return for multiple reasons apart from saving money and commute time....
1) People like the stability here as compared to metro cities where everything is temporary starting from friends, colleagues, flatmates and even the cook!
2) People don't want to constantly struggle for the limited resources like water , electricity , fresh air , space and public transport.

Can we get 100% WFH in IC? I got an offer for SC role and was told that working is hybrid but I have a small child and need 100% wfh for 1-2 years.@Infosys Consulting

I’m a very outgoing person and make friends pretty easily so this really caught me off guard. I’ve lived here a year and still don’t really have any solid friends here. Granted WFH doesn’t make things any easier.

Remote customer service jobs? My retired hubby is bored. He was a retail manager primarily grocery stores. So very strong customer service skills. With our household now he prefers 20-30 daytime hrs. Not an in office position.

If you were me 3 YOE - becoming part of a very small FDD firm with tons of upward mobility and growth potential. Can have WLB if I want, but can also put in extra work to help the business grow (with efforts actually recognized since it’s so small), fully remote, 175k TC. Or stay in banking and make a lot of money (in the long term, 2 or 3 years from now) but be a small cog in a big machine with minimal WLB

Curious how many of you live outside of Austin but commute to work within the city? Or if you’re fully remote.

For those who work at PWC are you fully remote with the option to go into the office? I am looking at applying to some jobs within Deals and all postings are “remote.” Does this mean the job can be fully remote with the occasional travel to clients (I think most said up to 40% travel)?

I know that there are “3-ways of working” and I just wasn’t sure if remote meant you could work fully remote as that seems to be the default for all postings.

So I started working remote for the first time two years ago, and have been completely isolated since. Mostly working from coffee shops and other places.

I definitely don’t want to go back to working in office, but I’m realizing that having other people around me getting work done was a huge motivator for me to stay focused.

Currently I’ve been using the Pomodoro Technique to help bring more structure to my work.

Any other remote workers out there struggling with focus? How do you manage.
