Everything is remote right now so you can get staffed on almost any project. I would be curious to see if the pay is different from Chicago office vs a Texas office.

What’s the breakdown nowadays? 165k base?

Just FYI compensation may be the same but Texas does not have state income tax

and most cities will have a lower cost of living regardless of that as well
It’s really the same. The only difference among offices is a considerably big vs. small for networking purposes during work hours and for out of office events. Staffing opps and comp is consistent at a national level. Out of curiosity do you mind sharing the comp package of the new MBA hires to have a better sense on the new bands?
If you’re in the strategy practice, I’d consider starting out in our Chicago office and then transferring to TX in a couple years. Technically office location shouldn’t matter for staffing, but there is a really strong Chicago network of both peers and people who will staff you on projects. Chicago is one of our strongest offices (and I say that as someone who sits in NYC).
That's why I picked Chicago as my preferred location, but considering the national staffing model and better environment (tax, weather, etc.), and my partner's career path, we felt Dallas was better for us overall - even if it means giving up Chicago's network.
Are you working at Deloitte currently? Would love to connect offline!
As someone who works big 4 I don’t think it personally matters at all unless the team u are joining us all based in chicago. We work across the entirety of the states for the most part so it’s either travel or remote. I.e my current team has people in Boston, Florida and LA, so being in the office really does me no good.
Yeah. That was my understanding as well but always great to hear from D people to validate.
Do you mind sharing details on the compensation package?
If you didn’t intern with us then it’s not important. You can join any office and be staffed locally or other cities.
My Salary is $165K (but I hear the average is somewhere between $150-170). I think bonus varies but I had a sizeable one.

Depends on the industry alignment you want. On your offer letter it should say which offering portfolio you are aligned with, strategy and analytics, core business operations i.e. if you are assigned to life-sciences and healthcare, the north east and west coast are best places to be. If you are aligned to tech, west coast, finance would be New York.
Texas is great for oil and gas, manufacturing, tech(Austin office), marketing, insurance and government and public services.
I am aligned to the Strategy practice.
Only thing that matters is compensation is location based in terms of market so you want to confirm with your recruiter that it won’t impact your comp
Take Texas if you want a house and family life but fun. Take Chicago if you are single, never will be home and wanna have a great nightlife
