I am a Product Owner with 6 yoe and a mother of newly born. My current package is 12lpa and average 11-12 hrs working with work from office for 7-8 hrs, remaining calls/work from home. In such scenario taking care of the baby has become very challenging.
I have been considering job switch for a while but have lots of doubt in my mind. Will a new mother be hired? Working 12 hrs will only ensure good package? If i insist on work life balance, will it affect the package? Thoughts plz

I am currently expecting, have informed my team. Since the organisation is in hybrid mode, when discussed earlier i was told that it is flexible in terms of wfh depending on my health condition. But now my department wants me to be in office twice a week irrespective of the prior discussion. Still half of the office is on hybrid mode. Is it a fair ask?

I ended my career on June 7. I was never going to retire. I was a K-6 Art teacher! I said I would never retire, teaching had been my identity and my life! Well, I changed my mind on the first day of school this year.

The “remote” teaching for a year did me in, but I stayed because I thought this year, things would be normal, teaching “in person.” I was excited.

I was so wrong because the behavior was unbelievable! I never had behavior problems bc I just took away the Art to manage the students.
The class always came around. I was committed to teach the entire school year. I did it!

I am so relieved that every single day in August will not feel like a Sunday night. The relief is grand!

Now that I’m 7 months into partnership, I just started a set up for WFH myself. It’s basic right now, but once fully set up, I don’t see a need to go to the office other than client meetings. But in my area of law (domestic relations/family), even in a pandemic, people love to just stop by. So that’s one of my concerns if I transition to WFH.

Need advice…privately held co. CEO met w/ execs and senior leaders saying since covid, company culture has plummeted due to remote working. He asked for open and honest discussion about bringing people back in to boost culture. I explained it could be counter productive to do so when we changed everyone to remote/hybrid and was chastised. Fast forward, things are worse and senior leaders are being asked why we think it’s not working..how should I respond when my opinion was originally chastised?
