I need to change my jaded perspective about private law offices. I know my subconscious view is wrong, but I need help.
Can anyone help share a story about their office(s) and what makes them enjoy working there?
I need to know my experience has been abnormal. I quit my first job long ago because the firm’s principal told me to conceal documents from discovery. (Doesn’t help I was barked at like I was dog, daily.) Feel like it set my career back by years.
Hi! Looking for some advice on tech sales vs non-tech sales.
I’m 27 and have been with tech companies for 5 years (BDR, hybrid BDR/SMB sales, and then customer care type role).
I’m currently interviewing for a Sales Exec role at a company that provides virtual mental health services, so I would not be in the tech realm necessarily. I’m wondering if this will negatively impact me in the future, if I try to get back in the tech world.
Is the Hollywood Reporter’s list of power attorneys reputable or is it another one of those distinctions that attorneys just pay to be mentioned in?
What are you reading? I used to voraciously read Business books - the gullup strengths-finder series, The Speed of Trust, Critical Conversations, Who Moved my Cheese, etc. Them I took a 10 year break from HR. What’s inspiring you and your team out there?
Advice- My team were all given a raise in March except me. I brought it up to my manager who recently started. First reaction was I am still new and a raise wasn’t warranted. I told him 2 other recruiters on my team started when I did. He said he would need to look into it. Today he told me 3 of my HM’s don’t feel supported (despite having the 2nd most hires) and I could either resign or go on a PIP. I’m the only minority on my team have double the req load and supporting the most dept.
Hi all! Global Mobility Manager here. If anyone has questions on the topic, let me know. I previously worked for an RMC (relocation management company) so have experience on both sides.
Looking forward to seeing some companies trends as I try to move farther into the HR world. Also looking for some likes so I can comment, DM etc.
Any tips for asking for a mid year riase when a raise was already given in December/January? (7% for hitting above quota numbers) I started to realize the new external hires on my team make 10-15k higher than me for the same role. I am a top 3 performer but promotions and raises are usally only given based on hitting a certain number and at the EOY and often times that number is very hard to hit given the out of my control situations like acquisitions.
I have a masters in organization behavior, I love being in organizations that are growing and changing that’s why I chose to get my masters in organization behavior. I feel like in the HR world having a SHRMor a PHR is more impressive, marketable and would get me more compensation in the long run. I paid 25K for a Masters for what?however my employer has decided to provide some tuition reimbursement so I’m looking into getting a certification. What’s your opinion I’m
A few questions:
1. When a company makes an offer to a remote candidate should they consider the cost of living where the remote candiadate lives?
2. As a BDR with 6 months experience, living in Chicago, with 10+ experience in the working world (former teacher), getting an offer from a small health tech company (20 employees) what can I expect OTE to be?
Any tips for studying for the LSAT? Also, I know academic letters of recommendation are required for most schools but I feel I will have a hard time getting one since a good majority of my undergrad was online and it was practically impossible to connect with professors. Any West Virginia lawyers out there?
I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.

I have been working as a PreSales SA for 4 years for a tech giant. It has been a while that I feel like I am not growing at my job which is impacting my productivity. How should I address this to reach a conclusion as to what I should do next? Maybe find motivation or look for an exit strategy?
Hey friends! I'd love to inquire about the Account Strategist role at Google. I would really like to understand ... On a high level, what is it that you do? Are you happy in this role? What are some promotional avenues? What is the hardest thing about your job? What is pay range when you're first starting out? (Not greedy just genuinely want to inquire) What are some skills that are really important to bring to the table for such a role? Cheers! Google
A month ago I received my annual review/ merit increase, which was a little higher than the 3% for market adjustment. I’m still underpaid and not happy. I accepted the review at the time because I needed time to digest it. I still haven’t had a 1:1 with her yet but plan to ask when we do. Is it too late to ask? Any tips for asking for a raise? She’s also giving me more responsibility, more work, having me take more ownership over things her and someone else used to. Im so nervous about asking
Hi I’m new to a firm and haven’t made friends with the other associates to ask. But on average how long do you take to do doc review? I’m worried I’m taking too long and going to be harshly judged by how long I spent.

I am a junior advisor of a team in a book around 400mm, 3mm in revenue. When I was hired, I was told that my job was to be groomed to eventually take over the book. But now, the senior partner wants me to go out and prospect, saying things like we need to increase the revenue.. I think it’s because the senior partner doesn’t want to share anymore of her book. Current split is 90/10 but was supposed to continue to increase.
My question is— what is a reasonable split between a senior and junior bc
