Thoughts on transitioning into Biglaw from a local mid-large sized defense firm? Second year Associate here.
Have been going out with a colleague (we're both associates) for about a month; wondering whether to disclose...
My husband and I are hoping to have a child soon, but I don't want to get off track at work. I'd love to know how others have handled the transition to motherhood while competing to make partner.

Would any amazing legal minds be willing to offer their time to give feedback and advice to a legal tech startup? I’m with aiLegal and we’re “ready” to go to market but having a tough time getting traction. I’d greatly appreciate anyone who is willing to provide their time to speak with my team and I. https://www.ailegal.com/

The partner I work for gives me conflicting instructions or forgets his instructions, and then blames me for his unhappiness about a course of conduct I’ve taken in fulfilling his instructions. Cont’d
I know that many FB regulars wish they had better mentors (or any mentors). But I suspect that many also have or had a mentor who really mattered in their lives. To those of you in that camp, please take the time to send a thank you to that person. Today (cont.)

What data science groups are there in Deloitte who work primarily on statistical, machine, or deep learning model development?
Do you get till that you are too direct/business like in personal life and communications? Is that a consulting lifestyle/mindset thing? My family seems to hate my direct communication and attempts to clarify ambiguity, while they prefer keeping things generic and ambiguous for spontaneity. I just feel like it's the root cause of all conflicts.

I joined Deloitte in 19’ and don’t buy into the circlejerk that seems to go on both for / against the company - I like being a part of the firm but am underwhelmed with where the recent compensation cycle resulted. I have an opportunity with a small business to get a roughly $45k salary increase, but would have 2 sacrifice the security of Deloitte, wfh and paternity leave, which will come into play this fall as we have a baby due in November. Anyone make a similar switch before or havethoughts?
Planner here. Created a big idea brief where everyone had their say. One strategist grabbed the brief and reworded it on a presentation. The idea is still there/intact, but reworded. Is that normal?
