Has anyone found fulfillment after switching areas? I started in mass torts (p side), now in a niche transactional practice. Thinking I’ll give defense lit a try but unsure if that’s the right move?
Why does this 4-5th year think it’s okay to drop work on a 3rd year and then head off to drinks with a friends and leave me in the ditch? This is a regular occurrence. Is this normal? I’ve just started saying no to their work. Doesn’t feel like a team effort at all. More feels like they can’t be bothered.
Throwing myself out there… is anyone on here looking to fill a SaaS BDR/SDR role? I don’t have direct experience in SaaS but I have worked in the tech space as a Business Analyst. I also have 5 years in sales/operations for a manufacturing startup. I am looking to break into SaaS Sales and start from the bottom. I am goal oriented and love a good challenge. I appreciate any leads or information anyone could pass my way. I am located in the North East (Southern Maine).

Thoughts on practicing law in the bathtub? Presently I’m soaking in my tub and reviewing contracts while sipping on a glass of bourbon. Sure, I could move to my home office, couch, or even bed but there’s something great about being paid to take a bath.
Work BURNOUT… LET’S TALK ABOUT IT. So a little back story. I am 38 a full full time single mom. I work about 60 hours per week. I do not get child support. My employer currently expects me to bring in 15 new customers & 100 existing every month… minimum. I have realized with my upcoming paid time off that I am burnt out. I recently have had no motivation to produce because I so desperately need a break. I sell internet and am the 2nd top producing rep in the region. Opinions to get my mojo back.

Does your firm have regular mandatory social events outside of work hours? Mine just started doing this and I hate it. I’m missing time with my family and just feels like more work. Any idea of the typical timeline working w a recruiter? I sent my resume first week of November. My current firm (small) decided to take in less work due to my intent to leave, and now I worry my writing sample may be dated in a few months. I’m taking on contract work in the interim but it’s a different practice area- would that lead to a class year cut? I’m in L&E and looking to move to a large firm, T30 school, decent grades, solid resume.

How common are 9-5 positions? I'm a rising 5th year in M&A/PE at a v10 in NYC and am ready to make the jump after bonus season. I'm looking for a lifestyle position in NYC after basically having no life while billing and rank that #1 on my list ahead of comp. That being said, the whole going in-house process is a bit of a mystery to me and I'm not sure what to expect in terms of opportunities or how to navigate the search. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
