First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?

Anyone been fired for low performance as a young lawyer? How did you deal with it and move on?
Is reading through Fishbowl billable time?
Hi Everyone! I’m torn between which HR certification to pursue (SHRM-SCP or SPHR). Which one would you recommend and why?
Anyone ever made the move from a smaller market with great work-life balance to a bigger market with poor work life balance in order to do more sophisticated work/more money? Currently only required to bill 1800, but I’m so sick of these lower middle market deals with sketchy clients and solo-practitioner opposing counsel.
Any tips on how best to draft an email asking for work from a partner who I haven’t worked with and who doesn’t know me? I’d like to get on their matters and want to craft an email that would actually get them to respond and be interested in giving me the work (as opposed to just acknowledging my interest and forgetting about it the next day).
Can we stop attaching unpublished cases yet?
Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
If you are feeling sick or something during the day and WFH, do you feel comfortable napping it off and then getting back to work and working late if needed? I have friends that say this is totally normal and okay but I feel weird about it and can never actually rest to feel better if I do lay down
I am a first year associate in Biglaw. I have been put on an improvement plan to increase my billable hours. My supervisors have commented that have not been getting work because I need to improve my efficiency. I am willing to do what it takes to improve but wonder how to improve my hours when no one seems willing to give me a second chance.
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
How much nonbillable time is too much? I’m a second associate at a midsized firm and I have 30-50 non billable hours each month. An associate at another firm told me this was really high. Thoughts?
Curious about non-US attorneys: are you working the crazy hour weeks most of us in the US do? Or are your weeks closer to 40 hours? I hear a lot about the working hour caps, vacation requirements, etc in Europe/Canada. Curious if that flows into legal practice... or if it gets ignored. To clarify—I’m talking about BigLaw. I’m sure there are smaller firms with reasonable hours, the same exists in the US.
How many billable hours did you record in March? I had to get an early start on quarantine because a co-worker tested positive for COVID-19. So, I’ll start, 155.
I was hired by client to draft a form MSA and SOW (the client is a freelance HR coach). She showed her form to another freelance HR coach and now they want to use the form I made for my client and my clients asking if that’s ok? Any advice?
Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!
I know this isn’t a job board but what the heck...anyone’s firm hiring remote securities attorneys? Older second year associate with 5 years of pre- law school and 5 years post-law school prior relevant experience. Most recently 1.5 years of traditional cap markets/securities law experience.
H1b fish, how long does it take your firm to start the PERM process? Mobility team at OW told me it'd be 3 years but most of my friends in consulting seem to only need to wait for 1 one year.
Anyone have any hot takes on life as a transactional associate at Gibson Dunn? Bonus points if you have any insights into their real estate group.
Anyone here interview at Microsoft or currently work there? Going to be at their final day next week would appreciate any pointers. Thanks!
My posture is absolute shit. Tried getting a standing desk and it's great when I stand, but on days I want to sit I can't touch the ground in my chair and feel like a child just to be level. Advice?
Any experienced strategy / management consultants pursuing or pursued the EB1-A green card route? What’s the success rate with or without RFE?
Help me decide vacation next year: Egypt or Russia? Couple, no kids. Like good food and scenery.
Should I take a pay cut for a job I am excited about? If I stay in consulting I’ll be in a post mba role (~160k+20k bonus) starting next fall vs new job which would be ~120k all in. New job would be great for networking and I’d learn a lot but I’m thrown off by comp drop. I’m 25 with no major expenses so know I can make this work but dont think my male friends (and many female friends) would feel comfortable with the comp change.
Got promoted effective 7/1 but am leaving the firm with a start date of 7/7. When should I put in my two weeks? Would like vacation balance paid out at higher salary.
Is there anything unique to Bain cases versus McKinsey/BCG, asking for a friend who is interviewing for an internship.
What types of projects do you work on? I work on post merger integration (M&A) but am looking for something that is more strategic / involves critical thinking / analysis. I want to get a feel if MBB has work that would be more interesting and challenging for me
First day at ACN in upcoming, putting me in a Holiday Inn for orientation, not given a preference on airline. Grateful for opportunity but is Holiday Inn the norm? Preferred airline is cheaper, cont..
Any foreign attorneys feeling lost while working towards their master’s of law in US and working towards getting bar admission? Being an Indian-trained attorney, I still await to sit for bar (this year delay pandemic) but always curious about how things turn out for other foreign attorneys here on F1 visa.
What’s the best way to impress a resourcing manager? I’m trying to get on this cool project and I’m looking to understand how staffing decisions are made. Thanks for your help!
Which is going to most likely hurt my career more in the long run... a job in pharma or a job in-house on the client side?
New to consulting and currently have the Uber card. I fly United and am current staying at a Marriott. Whats the best credit card to get? Will only be using the card for hotels and then personal spend

Just got feedback from my MBB interview. So close, asked to come back in 6 months to try again 🤕
Thinking of getting a Sea-Dweller 126600 - there are so many Subs. Finding them relatively easy to get hold of - why does this bowl think they are less popular than the Sub date? I have larger wrists so quite like the 43mm case and the red text tickles my fancy
Can two different recruiters submit you to the same place if they’re submitting 4-5 months apart? I’m not using both concurrently. Recruiter 1 submitted me to places in the beginning of the year and only one interview came out of it. Recruiter 2 wants to submit me to some places now. I’m wondering if there’s going to be any conflict/look bad etc if there’s an overlap.
