How do you communicate with employees who don't want to wear masks? Unbelievable to me people still have issues grasping this need.
How much nonbillable time is too much? I’m a second associate at a midsized firm and I have 30-50 non billable hours each month. An associate at another firm told me this was really high. Thoughts?
Anyone willing to share their sales leadership incentives based on team goals? What’s the norm here?
Interviewing for post-clerkship positions. Term ends in a month. Top choice told me I’m the only person interviewing for an unposted role. The interview went very well. It’s been almost 3 weeks since my last interview with my top choice. I emailed internal recruiter last week asking for timeline. No response. Need offer status ASAP because I can pursue other opportunities through connections but I don’t want to use my goodwill unless forced. BUT I need to pursue those options ASAP too. Advice?
Going from a strong litigation background to transactional within the pharmaceutical industry. Any tips for the practice change?
You’re constantly showing up for everyone else, but who’s showing up for you? I started an initiative to coach HR/people leaders because I know what it’s like to be doing all the things for everyone else with little support or focus on your own well-being, growth and development. It’s a lonely game! I’d be delighted to create the space to make you a priority. Would love to offer a free session, or simply connect: https://www.chrisrollins.me/peopleleaders.
I am going in house with an incredible opportunity. Why do I feel like a “failure” because I am leaving biglaw? I am happy but part of me feels like I’m weak and gave up and couldn’t make it in biglaw. Ugh
I’m studying for the SHRM-CP with the Mometrix (study guides, online course, and flash cards), however I’m super overwhelmed with all of the information. What are some best practices to ensure I grasp all of the concept ? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!
I honestly think I’ve developed PTSD from sitting still in the office for many hours everyday. Most days I feel panicked and stuck and can’t concentrate. Does this happen to you ? How do you deal?
Anyone ever leave a job, start a new job and go back to their old job? Why? How soon? Did you get a raise when you went back? Let me know! Thanks!
I’d love to discuss best practices for leave management. Anyone have any tips on which systems to leverage (HRIS, etc.) and approval workflow that they’d like to share? 🙂
Canadian professional (B. Ed, M.A, Ed D * Candidate) looking to move to USA to work in a college or university. I'd need a sponsor. Bring a wealth of experience. Does anyone have a lead? Thought? Hint??
I also have a JD and have been asked to take on roles/tasks of paralegal/associate. How do I turn that into a raise at my annual review without seeming greedy?
I’m a first year associate in nyc thinking about taking the CA bar. This pandemic has made me realize I don’t want to be far away from my family. Continued in comments...
Spinning off from the earlier union discussion. What do non-big law attorneys think about unionizing?
Hello! Would anyone be able to share any team building activities/training they have found successful for the C suite/executives? Looking to improve relationships. We have an environment where some point fingers/ throw others under the bus instead of working together . I know changes won’t happen overnight looking for that first step to get everyone on the same page and build trust.
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
What's the deal w The Gwen? Was is a Westin before the renovation? The removes awaiting renovation are pretty plain

really considering leaving B4 but my team relies so heavily on me, yet I feel so overworked and under appreciated. However I feel bad leaving them in the dust. anyone go through this? How did you go about/what were the steps of leaving?
How many people’s jobs would you absorb before requesting your role be re-evaluated/leveled/comp adjusted? I am already doing one person’s job when we decided not to backfill them when they left and just got nominated to take over someone else’s responsibilities while they are out on a multi-month leave. I could handle this if I was an individual contributor but I also have a significant team I’m managing and the additional responsibilities are coming at their expense which is unfair to them.

Does anyone know if Duff & Phelps (now Kroll) is 100% work from home or in the office or somewhere in between? (Details on Atlanta office preferred).
Is there a wrong time to quit? Started in audit at Big 4 less than a year ago and I already feel burned out. I was planning on staying for a few years and then moving to private accounting and getting a job with better pay, better hours, etc. But at this point, I don’t think I want to work in accounting long term. Is it bad to quit a job I’ve been at for less than a year? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve saved a little over $40k in a little over 2 years out of college plus maxing our my 401k for both years. I love my job but am thinking of quitting and doing extended time traveling. Thoughts?
Plan on moving to Dallas Texas next year. Currently with Deloitte MTS team and will be a senior at that time. Im wondering how the culture of the office is there? Also, how is the culture of the other firms. Im not opposed to moving firms. Just finished working three 80 hour weeks, so that would be a big plus to find a team where that is not expected on a regular basis!

My connection at McKinsey submitted a referral for me last week and I have not received the application link. How does it take to get the link? Anyone in the same situation?

I’ve never been unintelligent, but does anyone else feel manipulated to think so by leadership? It almost feels like a sick game how leadership talks down to AEs...
Hey Sales 🐠, kindly requesting your advice. I have 4 YOE in customer success and 2 YOE as a presales solutions consultant, all in the health tech space. I’d like to grow into a sales role (e.g. Account Executive), but am not sure what a good next step should be. I don’t have any full cycle sales experience or a history of a meeting quotas, but I am comfortable in C-suite interactions. Any suggestions on what type of sales roles to consider next? Thanks!
Doing track and trading now. Partner does not want to provide any information related to bank account and says that’s an invasion of privacy and refuses to provide me with the info. What can I do in this case ? I don’t have access to 401k info or anything.
Does anyone have recruiter contacts in San Fran?
I have an offer from One great company that I need to reply to by end of the week and Google had reached out to me after two months of radio silence wanting to move me forward to the last interview round. The offer I got was for a product design position while google wants to potentially hire me as a visual designer… what do I do??? I’m so stressed. I don’t know if I should just accept the offer and then jump ship if Google decides to hire me.
