So I just started a new job in sales (B2B specifically). All my life I’ve been in blue collar jobs, military, then construction work ect. I don’t have much money saved to get myself my own business cards as I’m sure they are important to have, I’ve got all the info that I need to go out and start selling. I guess what I’m looking for is just tips on how you guys were successful walking into a whole new arena if that makes sense?

Any advice with anxiety before calls/door pulling? Never happened before but it’s crippling now.

What are some metrics you look at to determine the success of your L&D initiatives and/or LMS platform. Do you measure employee performance in any way?

My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

According to an article in LinkedIn new job postings are down for the first time in 9 months but still there over 10 million open jobs with only 5.9 million unemployed workers. Why is it that here I am unemployed over 4 months and still not one offer. Anyone got some positive vibes to send my way it would be appreciated! I’ve been in sales for over 20 years, b2c, b2b and account management as well as sales management. I’ve got great skills and enthusiasm to give to a great employer!

I started a few new business ( with debt) this year, and because the way my taxes looked with other losses it looks like I didn't make a ton of money. Now my credit dropped from 800 to 720 and I'm having trouble getting credit. Despite having a perfect payment history and fully able to cover all liabilities. Any way to get the credit up. If I pay off my liabilities then my credit history gets shot with young accounts. What's the best way to handle this?

Hello everyone! How do you manage holiday pay when the holiday is on a Saturday/ Sunday. For example, if I have someone working on Christmas (Sunday), they should be paid 1.5 but what if they work on Monday as well?I know this might sound silly to some people but I’m covering for payroll for the holidays and I don’t want to mess up!

Am I the only one left at the end of the month trying to bill 10hour days to meet hours because I slacked off at the beginning of the month? It’s a vicious cycle. Then the end of the month hits and I’m so exhausted that I need to take it was the next week... and the cycle continues

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I like my company, but I want to do less. I don’t need to be a HR Director, CHRO, etc. With a career slowdown, I am prepared for a lower compensation and would want decent benefits. Anyone here do HR for an organization with both union and non union employees? My organization is very small consisting of 8 union employees and 7 non union employees. Hello all! I am looking for a job in finance/investments, but I’m having trouble attracting attention from employers. I have a finance degree from UGA, but all of my experience (3.5 years) is in sales (tech and real estate), so no relevant internships unfortunately. Any advice on how to market myself better and where I should be looking would be greatly appreciated!

How do you guys think about placing limits on your watch collection?

Question: do y’all really love this stuff and understand it? Or are you all on the “fake it til you make it” wave? I ask because I’m in a specialty group under the Corporate umbrella and many of the partners and some senior associates are extremely smart and clearly enjoy this stuff. Some even do “night time reading” to catch up on the recent laws. I, on the other hand, cannot wrap my head around it most of the time and would rather not waste energy doing it. Is it just me? What do i do? Quit?

I make a lot more than a coworker along with a higher title all because I have an awesome boss who cares and he has a selfish one. Should I say something to my boss or HR?

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Is it good to hpe seeing current layoffs. Is there good work life balance? Job security?
