I’m considering making a career switch to HR (in Canada). Do I need to get any professional certifications or go back to school?

We have an employee who is legally an adult but does have a legal guardian. The employee comes to HR numerous times a month with questions, which in itself is fine....However, every time we speak with him, his guardian then calls to question us about the conversation.

Are we legally responsible for speaking to his guardian?
What are we allowed to share?

Any tips from those who support a lot of employee concerns/investigations on how to avoid burnout while still meeting productivity expectations?

Currently have an offer from ServiceNow for SDR role at 42k with OTE of 70.8k in Boston, MA after I graduate.

In the hiring process for DELL and Salesforce as well which leaves me with 2 questions:

; Is the SN offer good/ will the others offer me a better package?

; Which of those 3 should would you work at if offers will be similar?

Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

What is the SHRM and is it even worth it to get?

Thoughts on SPHR vs SPHRi? I have PHR currently. Current company is growing internationally so I'm debating which route to go.

Hi all, I currently work for a mid-size non profit after graduating from university last May. My main role is recruiting, but I really would like to move to the ER side. My degree is not in HR, so I was going to stay at this role for a year to start working on my SHRM. Does anybody have any tips on moving into more ER related roles from recruiting? Thank you!

Hi everyone, I need advice. I currently manage a small team of my own AM ICs. I also managed another team while their manager was on leave.

The manager recently returned & took their team back- their style is more dictating and “do as I say” and not very player/coach or collaborative (like mine) . Their team keeps coming to me for advice and complaints about their manager- they are having a tough time working with them. I have encouraged the ICs to escalate to leadership - what would you do ?

I'm hearing rumors that my company is going to be slashing commission and bonus rates because of budget cuts. Anyone else facing this? Time to jump ship?

I am currently a HR Generalist for a small aerospace company, located in CA. I have been in a generalist role for a little over 4 years now and before that, I did recruiting/safety for about 3 years. I have completed all my pre-joining formalities & submitted all relevant documents. Once submitting the BGV got an auto mailer saying that it would take 14 days to complete the BGV. And the days are over now. Also, so far, I didn't receive any mails.
