Is there a way to verify an email address without sending emails? I need to verify A TON of emails, but don’t need to actually send them emails myself.
I’m home with my kids while wife works crazy hours as healthcare provider. Billing what I can, 20-30, but not hustling. Can low billables now really put me at risk after 5+ years of top performance?
Yayyy I billed 80 hours sharp in April!!!! They could take mine and another associate’s work, fire one of them, give the work to the other one and profit more. Things are looking grim folks
Is anyone experiencing a reduction of billables due to the partners assigning you less and doing more of the work themselves? If so, what year are you?
I recently passed the bar and need a writing sample to submit to potential employers. I went to law school a few years ago so I don’t think I should use something from law school. I have been working but everything I’ve written at my job was from a template. I think I need to write a new paper to submit but I don’t know where to start. Maybe a PT prompt from the bar exam?
Defendant filed a motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction. I have to now oppose this motion: where do I even begin because tbh defendant has a pretty lock argument
I have the capacity for more work. Is it too forward to 1) ask partners for work or 2) show interest in new cases I learn about through conflict check emails?
So is all the hype about weighted blankets true? Do you have one? Which one? And why did you get it? (I’m considering because I have trouble sleeping nowadays)
Has anyone else had problems getting extensions for discovery responses from opposing counsel in light of the pandemic? Most lawyers have been copacetic, but I have one that’s stubborn.

What sort of questions should I expect in a final interview? I’ve already spoken with the person that needs the role filled and team members. I’m a little nervous!
Had a second round job interview last Thursday that I thought went okay. Haven't heard back yet too early to email asking what is up?
Any feedback on TPG Capital in San Francisco? Also, any idea on comp for associate/ senior associate level in valuation?
How much can I can expect in Dubai with 9 years of experience in IT, Data privacy and cyber security? Also a lot of certs (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CIPP, etc)
Do you feel that working in HR area is less prestigious than in strategy, finance or any other function? Also perception from S&O and MBB colleagues is sometimes arrogant.
I have the opportunity to move to a small boutique data science and data engineering consulting firm that would pay better with less hours. However, would it stunt my growth without a big 4 tag? It has more opportunities for technical growth and certifications but will push me into a more specialized role. I am mostly worried about the trade off between staying until Manager or upper senior and cashing out then. Does anyone have insight on how the two may differ in future career opportunities?
Fitting on a football Sunday...I DESPISE the Patriots (Jets fan sadly) but can’t argue with a lot of this. Especially the “boss coming in after mountain biking & killing all the work” thing 😂😡 http://musebycl.io/sports/lessons-ad-world-nfl-dynasty-you-hated

So, I’m looking to rebalance my portfolio of credit cards. Back when I was a BCG PL, I got a bunch of cards and used them for work flights and got a bunch of points bonuses, then I put them away and got busy with life. That was 6 years ago. I now have a bunch of cards that I don’t use, and trying to think through what to keep, what to get rid of, and what would make sense to sign up for new.
Fear of being laid off (at 50) is so all enveloping that it’s affecting my health and sleep. I have a pit in my stomach all the time. Sitting alone at home (single) knowing if I’m on the list I’ll never get hired again. And not enough savings for the next three years let alone forty. Decision makers: when you lay somebody off you are condemning them to years of unemployment. fight not to do it.
Boarded a flight this morning with first class and an older man took one look and tried to cut around me. I was taken back. Then realized he decided I didn't look first class.
79 interviews 13 super days 2,370 minutes spent interviewing 1 offer Absurd. Relieved, but absurd.
Kid no more than 14 months decides to sit in row 1. No remorse. Sister, maybe 2, starts marching down isle politely saying “excuse me” for the people in her way. Really cute way to start Saturday!
Ad Agency life is akin to porn. The 15 seconds of happiness was preceded by 124 billable hours of pain.
Just had the worst internship experience at EY. No one to report to, project scope is a mess, people frown upon networking, counsellor defends the team for every mistake they make, and no transparency
In your life, how times have you been let go or fired from your position. I’ll go - once, was let go for an elimination in position.
