If you think the current job is making you miserable then leaving isn’t a bad option. You may take longer, but you will get where you want to.
Less hours worked is equivalent to higher hourly pay, which is worth consideration.

5 years in took 10% less for way more opportunity and work I love. No biggie just smush that ego down.
It might be worth it to stay for a year until you get a salary bump and negotiate with that. It depends on how far in the promo cycle you are. Of you're up this cycle, id say stay. If you're literally dying every day, get out no matter what the pay is
Why do you have to justify your decision? Do whatever you feel like doing. Obviously your current job is not giving you everything you need. Maybe 5% more money but 100% more personal satisfaction

Getting experience in industry makes you more valuable to consulting. And you can always come back. I'd say your reasons are valid and 5% is honestly good where industry is concerned.

I’d probably leave now for no pay bump if I were able to do what I actually want to do. Feeling depressed day in day out isn’t worth it, unless your near a promo and waiting for the pay bump. As others said, identify why you want to leave and focus on that.
What are you doing now and what are you leaving for?
Currently Supply chain ERP implementation. Would be leaving for a procurement role one level above at a defense company
