What's the requirement to travel back to the US?
I'm serving notice period in TCS and my last day is in 2 weeks. I requested for pickup of laptop in the portal but I came to know that it will take time for pickup and I won't be available if they come late. So I decided to go to office and surrender the laptop as I'm in the location of office only. Is there a seperate request to be raised for surrender of laptop and how to cancel the existing request for pickup. Please guide.Tata Consultancy

Seattle is more expensive but not that expensive
I'm with you C2, probably in the same boat.
220k will be 8k-9k per month after taxes (assuming 220k is your total comp not base salary). House in Seattle costs 700-800k. Mortgage would be 3k-4K. So 50% of your salary is for housing, 25% for expenses and 25% for savings/investments. I think it’s a good deal (not extraordinary but good deal that you should not pass up)
Thanks!!!
150 is nothing in Atlanta. Atlanta is not a cheap city dunno why people think that and why it’s a tier 3 city. It’s getting more expensive too. Sure buying a house may be cheaper if you live an hour or two outside the city but apartments in the city are not cheap.
U can’t get a 3BR for 1M in Seattle
Seattle and it shouldn't even be up for debate. 220k should be comfortable in Seattle and as a city Atlanta having travelled there for a year is as boring and lifeless as they come. If it were Austin or Denver, then it would have been a lot harder.
OP - how many years of experience do you have?
Hate heat. Seattle sounds wonderful
Seattle all the way... plus you can fly Alaska Airlines instead of Delta
A salary of $110,000 in Seattle, Washington could decrease to $62,225 in Atlanta, Georgia (assumptions include Homeowner, no Child Care, and Taxes are not considered.) https://www.bestplaces.net/cost-of-living/seattle-wa/atlanta-ga/110000
Heavily weighted on housing prices so this is going to swing wildly depending on where in Atlanta you want to live
Salaries don’t “decrease” . It’s Economics 101. What you make gives you a relative lifestyle. Relative to YOUR needs. Hardest part may be figuring what makes you happy. Different for everyone. Lots of factors like: spending power; commute, housing, social activities and opportunities, outdoors/indoors activities, etc. Take your top 5 and research pros and cons and make a decision! ^^do you live in the suburbs? I’d prefer it. Does south Seattle consist of a bunch of neighborhoods or towns?
