Has anyone worked for private companies as an internal auditor, and later decided to go into public accounting? Was a difficult to land an interview as several years has past w/o public experience?

Has anyone left PA for a hybrid accounting/finance role? It definitely sounds interesting to me, but I want to avoid ending up in a role performing 2 roles for the salary of 1! Desperately want to get into healthcare strategy consulting. 13 years of healthcare clinical experience including project work. MBA. But keep getting told by recruiters that I don't have enough experience to be a Consultant or Manager but that I have too much experience to enter in every level such as a Senior Associate. Service design seems a popular role in consulting in the past year or so, certainly seeing more grads go down this route. Is there much overlap with business analysis? When I’ve worked with service designers the output seems to be another version of a process map, are there other skills and experience needed? I’m having a really hard time with my changing body. 13 weeks, I don’t have too many bad side effects of pregnancy or anything so I consider myself lucky (no nausea ever etc) but I’m depressed at work, my skin is completely broken out and showing new broken face capillaries, and I’m not showing a bump yet so I just feel fat and big.
