Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Let the recruiter do the work, perhaps seeing two different recruiters refer you might change the hiring manager’s mind.
Did you ask the first recruiter for feedback on why they declined? Since they declined once before, maintain a realistic expectation of being declined again, if that does happen, make sure to ask the recruiter to relay their reasoning.
I asked for feedback but haven’t heard anything! I’m guessing the reasoning is that I don’t have TV experience (which is why I want the job) so I might say I’m open to freelance or a copy test.

It’s standard procedure to tell a recruiter if you have applied somewhere in the last six months. If the second knew, they would not submit you.
That’s right. Because they’ll be unable to collect a commission on you, usually the first recruiter to submit a candidate gets the credit — same if you applied direct with the company, most companies will not compensate an external recruiter if you’re already in the system.
I think if they were interested, they wouldn’t have passed a few weeks ago.
The people who are saying “let the second recruiter submit you” are giving really terrible advice. Definitely don’t do that.
Thanks, that’s helpful! Yea, I figure it’s a long shot.

Let the second recruiter submit you. That’s how I landed a position. Not sure if my employer was even aware I had been submitted previously.
Honestly try to get in with a CD or above. At my current job, I had an external recruiter submit me, the internal recruiter/hiring manager never got back to her, then a few months later I got connected to the CCO who hired me.

Are they not keeping track internally of who they reach out to? How have you been contacted twice for the same job?
Correct!
