AA prioritizes within elite tiers by sorting EQD
LAX / $17k / 105k / 35
G1, I have been able to get three sheets CLT-GSO before. Just takes a qualified FA and enough gin!
The only thing you need to bench mark is status and EQD. Everything else is irrelevant.
I’m rarely on the upgrade list because I get upgraded in advance.
EXP / $19k EQD that flies dfw to a mid major city.
RDU / $21k / 92k / 138
Mmm, segments.
Segment grinding is cruel and unusual. All the stress of the airport experience with little of the upside (disconnecting, watching movies, getting three sheets on port wine)
CLT / 59k / 144k / 92
SFO / 12k / 108k / 66, spend is low because I’m mostly flying on my own dime now (on the plus side, I get to fly places I actually want to go) so I expect my upgrade rate (down to 80% this year) to decline even further.
CLT / 30k / 125k / 115
Is there a reason that the actual thresholds for the status tiers isn’t enough? Or do you want to know how AA prioritizes the upgrade list with tiers?
EQDs for the upgrade list is based on a daily rolling 12 months spend. Unless you keep an Excel sheet of your fare and carrier fee spend (taxes are excluded), AA doesn't make this info available.
EQDs for gaining status is on a calendar based 12 months so it's different.
You can see your 12 month spend in your activity section. You would have to manually calculate but the data is always there.
Because it’s so close to end of year, seems measuring EQD is close enough at this point
Pc1, how?
^A few international flights, or else probably full fare Econ each week. I’m guessing CK with that spend.
Seeing 144 EQM at first made me feel bad for PC1, but then I realized they’re provably lucky enough to be on the road less than me (tho to be fair, they’ve likely “paid their dues” (literally and figuratively, as they’re a principal
Full far business to Europe 6 times. Rest of the time short hops to NY. Not as fun as it sounds...leave Sunday night, straight to office when land, then back on Saturday morning (arrive late Saturday night). Not CK, got offered a challenge of $40k spend over next 3 months to qualify
Pc1, so CK in CLT is almost 100k spend? Daaamn.
Yea that’s nuts
Are you booking partner airlines? $100k EQD would seem aggressive for CK seeing that most get it with $50-60k spend. Something is off.
If based in CLT, there almost aren’t any partners, haha
All AA flight except 2 short hop BA flights with only economy
