Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

Probably, tbh.
In entertainment land, this feels like the most shocking lateral move in a decade. Here I thought MSK was dead, now they are going to be the top which they never were even before lol.
He should have joined Davis Wright Tremaine.
I have a general insight into his rates and they are more on par with MSK/DWT than MTO.
I don’t know if you’re an entertainment litigator, but a lot of (if not a majority of) entertainment copyright litigation is insurance based. Studios and prodcos insure the production of their content. So when they get a claim, the firm must charge the discounted insurance rate they have with the insurance company.
Obviously there are outliers, and MTO handles a lot of bet-the-company stuff for entertainment companies, but that is different from the average substantial similarity copyright/idea submission case that comes through the door.
The takeaway is that the best lawyers are not always the most expensive. To do purely copyright litigation for studios, you usually have to charge less than the average biglaw commercial litigator.
Anyone know how GG ent lit is doing now? Lol
