Unless you are desperate for a paycheck, I would think long and hard about going to BAH. It's a total clown show.
As someone who left in the last year - I completely agree with this.
Leadership in the practice that I was in did not pursue renewing some of our contracts or support the pursuit of new work in our line of service because it did not match the “firm’s strategy”. The firm’s strategy at this point is to be staff aug for technical and cyber roles. People who were actually doing consulting seemed to drop every year. The biggest exodus for the work I was familiar with was this year. A few were laid off and many found opportunities elsewhere. I only know two people who are still at the firm that were in that line of service, and they’re now staff aug on an old long term support contract.
And the new strategy, from all I hear, is reflective in offers and raises. For your financials and future, I’d suggest anywhere but Booz Allen.
Presuming you're talking about the federal side of both firms, it's not at all standardized. Our pay bands are wider than those at AFS, so you *can* make more to significantly more at a given level here, but it isn't standardized whatsoever. It really depends on where you are in the firm and what your specific team's compensation philosophy is.
The exact same person might make $180k on one team here and $150k on another.
I can't speak to AFS benefits, but ours are solidly average and nothing to write home about.
Ehh Booz benefits are pretty solid compared to Big 4 and most of defense industry. I wouldn’t sneeze at going back for just the benefits alone.
If AFS is anything like Deloitte... I make significantly more than I did at Booz
