Advice plz.
I was given a verbal offer from a firm. The base salary offered was much lower than my min expectation, so they offering a sign on bonus to get me closer. I asked them to see how much closer they can get me to my minimum target. They came back with a slightly higher signing bonus but the base salary didn’t budge. It’s still not my min salary requirement.
This is all over the phone.
They are sending me written offer soon.
Can I still ask for more because the base salary isn't great.

Why are other firms already notifying new hires about the increase in salary but PwC recruiters stated that ours are re-evaluated in June if we start next month? A friend is at a middle firm starting out at 68. How lucky.

Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon. Based on some research around Boston and my role in the company, I feel 165k plus 10-15% bonus is fair. Nonetheless, first time going through something like this and asking for thoughts and comments. Hey fishes, can someone tell me how the 80c bracket works, i know i can get exempt upto 1.5lakh under it, what i wanna know is does PF comes under it or not? For example if my yearly pf deduction is 20k and VPF is 10k so now will i still be able to show investment of 1.5lakh under 80c apart from PF and VPF or i'll be able to get exemption on only 1.2 lakh( 1.5lakh-30k= 1.2lakh)?

Hi Fishes, I'm in a huge dilemma now. Im currently working with TCS and my CCTC is 10.29 LPA and I hold 2 offers, one with with Bank of America for 17.5 LPA Fixed and with CTS for 19 LPA.
My last date is Dec-30 and I received a call today from TCS HR for retaining me for 16 LPA max.
Earlier,before the call I had Bank of america in mind ahead of CTS for its work culture ,hike %, job security and other benefits. But here in TCS also I have very good role, job security and comfort.Please suggest!!

Friendly reminder that if your company doesn’t give you at least a 6% raise this year to account for inflation, they’re essentially giving you a pay cut. Time to start looking elsewhere!

Wanted to bring out that staff-1's are paid peanuts (3.33L CTC) please don't expect them to slog 12-13 hours. They don't have enough motivation or incentives to work that long. Seniors,AM's and Managers should be more kind and explain the work to them clearly rather than making last minute changes.
