Advisory promotion or lateral to Product?
I'm a manager up for promo this year, but I have an opportunity to move to the product team of a F100 client. Product is B2B and regulated so lots of stakeholder mgmt (politics) and can be slow. My goal is PM in an innovative tech firm eventually (doesn't have to be FAANG). I got some advice to take the promo for better comp ($15-20K delta), title and move later as I still have good relationship with the client. 8 YOE + MBA

Colleague has put in his resignation. They are offering him whatever he wants to stay including 4days a week work from home. He’s not bluffing and plans to leave. However, at this same time I was asked to begin working as a supervisor for the engineering team and I would get a promotion at the beginning of the year. I have been supervising and managing our team of 6 for months with no extra pay or bonuses. I was told yesterday that raises will be light this year. Yet today they spare nothing.

I have a final round interview for a job I’m extremely excited for tomorrow. I have been at my current job since July (unicorn startup). I also have been on medical leave for about a month and a half due to surgery. My current job is also just not quite the right fit for me. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself but if I get the job, I’m a little worried about how it would come across to my current one. This isn’t a place I care about burning bridges too much but still it isn’t great.

Currently a big 4 consultant and got an offer from FAANG for a strategy and ops role that would bring my total comp up 60%. I’m really grateful for the offer and really excited, however, I am also interviewing with MBB. It has always been a goal of mine to work for tier 1 strategy firm as I’ve always felt on the outside looking in at big4. I feel like most exit ops from strategy would be S&O industry roles but still can’t get these MBB firms out of my mind. Am I just overthinking this?
