After 3 months of applying I some how got an interview with a well known growing tech start up! Interviewed and got an offer this week. Unfortunately the offer is lower than my current comp with 1 yoe but it gets me out of tech consulting/compliance and into a pretty interesting product facing role! A bit sad about a lower comp but also pretty pumped about pivoting career paths so early and getting to work in product! Hope this “success” helps motivate some of y’all who might feel down!

I would like to know how Thoughtworks is giving more salary than a product based company. I am surprised to see many people preferring thoughtworks inspite of having an offer with product based firms. Who are their clients? What difference they make compared to other service based like tcs, cts etc. Pls explain.

Applied for a role as a director of sales with a medical company and got past initial screening and interviewed quite well with VP of sales. He stated he will tell recruiter to reach out and set up 2nd interview. Although within holiday week they stated they're looking to fill void asap. I’ve been a general manager for a convenience store for almost 2 years now. I have raised profit after variable expenses by 13% compared to last year, and I am exceeding budgets by 5-30% in every category except for turnover rate. I got an 11% raise last year, but still only make $55k. My store profits about 17k a month on inside sales, and 160k a month in fuel. I think I deserve more, but I don’t know how to ask for it, and don’t know how to begin a job search aside from indeed. Any advice?
