I’m quitting my job tomorrow morning. I don’t have a new job lined up. I’m scared, but also excited? I’ve felt under utilized for months, and haven’t had a promotion after two years. I never take risks like this, but life is too short. Is this a bad choice?

Is it common practice in Singapore for firms to have a probation period for new joiners (duration at their discretion), during which new joiners can be fired at a week’s notice period?

I got offer from IBM in my home location itself, with 18.5LPA fixed for 9 yea in automation testing. Here my manger is confusing me like layoff will after u join in IBM.. but I am in cts as 11.2 only .. but now I got SA promotion with 10 % hike .. and also no retnation for me also not there whether I can choose IBM or stay here .. kindly help guys .

Considering an offer to go from firm (4 YOE) to become a privacy/product counsel for a tech company (non-faang). One concern for me is the potential of a recession in late 22 into 23 with the fed rate hikes. My fear is if that happens, me being on the chopping block as new in house counsel. If I stayed at the firm, I feel reasonably secure as an associate of not being laid off due to the market. How do in house counsel positions typically fare during lay off cycles? I currently work in Healthcare as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. I have been at my job, currently, for a little over 5 years. Alongside my bachelors degree I also have a masters degree in healthcare administration. Although, I am happy with my current position as a respiratory therapist, there seems to be not a lot career growth with where the department I currently work in within my healthcare system. I am wondering what doors/opportunities I have if I were to utilize my masters degree?

Just wanted to say the brand I work for hired a 55+ yo Creative Director and I am STOKED. He is seasoned, smart, kind, and elevates voices, is just generous and classy af. This is refreshing as I’ve know one too many conceited and elbow-shoving CDs at agencies I worked at. He’s the highest ranking Creative without the inflated title too. So happy to see there’s a future for us (well at least brand side for now).

No matter how much and how hard I try organize my day, stuff just pops out of nowhere all the time and I end up stuck at my desk until midnight almost every single day.

It is absolutely insane to me how recruiter ghosting is acceptable in the world of working professionals.

I don’t care how busy they are. They seem to respond really promptly to all of my emails, but the second I am no longer of use to them, they’re too busy to fire off a ten word email.

Sending one more email letting me know that I’m not being considered for a position does not take long.

And after I took time out of my day to interview, it is the absolute least they can do.
