Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

In short, honestly! If the reason you are willing to take a lower paying role is because you are committed to making a career pivot and gaining experience, then you say that. You can say you know that career change sometimes means starting at a lower salary and working from there with new experience. That is perfectly reasonable.
Well, honestly, why are you?
There can be 2 reasons, from the top of my head:
1) You really like the new company, and you want to work there even if it means a lower position and salary.
2) You can't find a job at your current level and salary, due to the job market conditions (don't answer this one).
Be honest. Assuming the role you interviewed for was one that you applied for: Why did you apply for a role that is perceived to be under your more recent roles? There must be a reason why you applied for a role that is perceived to be below your most recent roles.
Because you want so badly to work at that company that you're willing to take a pay cut and a lower position, and then work your way up again.
