I did a stint in financial DD for insurance m&a before current role. Was interesting due to being higher up the food chain than technical actuarial work but was too accounting focussed and too repetitive/process driven for me so moved on.
Mgmt consulting, but insurance clients - would be wasteful otherwise!
Yeah UK qualified.
It’s faster/more intense here as expected, but more interesting. Early days still but all good so far and I expect the background will remain useful.
Hmm good q. Not explicitly but I guess it featured in the interviews through discussion of previous work. Bar it maybe helping to get the first interview, I don’t think there’s much interest in having the letters per se. More about your performance in the role etc.
Though I think fair to say that applying as an experienced hire, it will be noted that you are in an advanced role in the insurance field vs e.g. if you were a broker.
BCG1, are you back in actuarial? Or moved on to Mgmt consulting?
How’re you liking it so far? Are you a credentialed actuary? How was the lifestyle change?
BCG1, how did your market your credential during the interview process?
