Joined IBM recently and partners (as non equity owners) seem motivated to do the right thing for clients vs lining their pockets. As for salary it seems competitive, too early to tell on bonus, etc. Hardest part will probably be onboarding where ever you go.
That makes sense SP1. Not being in the same room / office is definitely a hindrance to onboarding. Feel free to add any other insight. I appreciate it.
Rising Star
Worked at IBM and big 4.
Career growth: more limited than big 4, as you’d expect for a company that has lost 30 billion in revenue over the past 10 years.
Benefits/ perks: horrible benefits, horrible perks. Worst in both tech industry and professional services.
Culture: More relaxed, less cut throat that big4. Firm is making credible diversity efforts, and I found mentorship a huge plus.
Bonus: less than 5% every year I was there. Likely improves once you hit associate partner. Really focus on base as you essentially pay for your healthcare and shouldn’t expect much from bonus / perks.
Promotions: generally come with large (20%+) pay bumps. Ibm is fairly competitive on base salary vs. their peers. Band 6 (B6) represents a post college consultant, B7 is the mba entry, B8 manager, B9 Sr manager, B10 associate partner.
M1 - any inputs on band 9 and band 10 salary ranges?
