Any attorneys here that went in-house with a focus on Ops/business and rose the ranks? Questioning my pathway to a leadership/executive role and whether my chances are better on the legal side as opposed to more focused ops side. It seems like companies (depending on the industry) are recruiting lawyers for job specific ops roles.

depends on ur skillset, how would we know

yeah whats ur skillset? u need to provide more context if u want advice

It depends on the company, but most companies have one legal executive, but multiple other executives. If you have the experience and skillset, it is easier to get one of many roles than to just move into one role that may never open during your tenure.

Hello, after doing some research I believe I’m being underpaid. About 4 months ago HR did a market analysis for my role. They bumped my salary for about $2k. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. I’m currently making $61,000 with bonus included. Based on my research I should at least be making $71,400. I have a check in with my boss tomorrow and I am asking for a raise.

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

Outside counsel has been prepping company witnesses for a trial in August. It is my subject area so I am supervising outside counsel. I did not, however, choose the counsel. Trials are rare, and I just don’t think these guys have actually tried many cases. Cont. below…
