Any ex-Deloitters switch over to Microsoft? How was the transition? Culture? WLB?

Looking for advice on starting a post consulting law career.

I graduated with a JD/MPP, passed the bar, and immediately started at a consulting firm. I’m coming up on my 2 year mark and want to make the switch to practicing law. I’ve been doing human capital consulting in the government space.

Anyone have a similar background? Or know ways to make the pivot? Thanks!

How do you start waking up early? Always been a night owl and sleep around 1. Wake up at 8/8:30 right before work starts.

I am currently being hired for nightshift. Are there any chances for getting day shift or mid shift?

Because during interview I said yes to Night Shifts.

After working from home for the last 9 months, I do not want to ever go back into the office. I'd like to stay permanently remote. Advice for bringing this topic up with my manager? Or should I hold off on asking until we actually need to return (probably not until May or June at this rate). I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Can't really share this with anyone else, so thank you fellow fish for indulging. 3 years in, finally at a point where I can comfortably work 40 hours a week the last quarter+, and still be a trusted team member and major contributor. Normal tasks and collaborations now take me a fraction of the time compared to my first couple years / others on the team. 6 YOE and my TC has also gone up a lot from low 200s last year to high 200s this year. Hope to keep this optimal mix of WLB & progression 🙏
