Are there any helpful books/resources/podcast episodes about leadership you guys would recommend?
Has anyone read either Dave Burgess's "Teach Like a Pirate" or "Lead Like a Pirate" books? What's your takeaway from them?
Favorite books about creative leadership?
Do you feel KPMG is putting people at risk encouraging to go back to the office? It’s not mandatory yet but I can see leadership promoting/expecting and those following would eventually fall in their good books. How hard is it to understand that pandemic is not over by any means?
hadn't worked with a female co-worker since starting this job, recently met a mindblowing amazing person who just got promoted to manager. she loves reading, any suggestions on female leadership books
Does your firm form leadership group trainings? We usually do every summer but we are starting one these last 2 months. We usually read books or watch something and then discuss. If you do them, do you think they are effective?
I’ve hit an absolute brick wall when it comes to finding for a new job. I’ve had almost a dozen interviews that lead nowhere and been ghosted by a ton of recruiters. Would anyone be available to look over my book and give me some advice? 🙏
For my fellow managers (team leaders, people leaders, project leaders, practice leaders, etc.) - which management / leadership books have you found to be helpful in honing your approach to leading teams?
Any good books / podcasts for developing great leadership skills - bonus for creative leadership. Thx.
I work at a preschool that redirects disruptive students by giving them a book to calm down and regroup. Do you think this is a good practice or does it ultimately lead the student to see reading as punishment?
Does anyone have book recommendations on how to develop account management and overall leadership skills in the workplace? Want to improve my client relations skills.
I’m one of very few creative women in my shop...there are none in creative leadership. Would love a female mentor who I could show my book to, ask questions, and get general advice from. 🤞
The worst thing is being “voluntold”. Partners : “Hey, how do you feel about volunteering to lead this? I think you would be great “ Me: “I don’t have the bandwidth to lead that event” Partner : “Let me clarify, you are leading this event, please book a meeting on my calendar.”
Without asking or confirming, account lead booked an in-person client meeting that requires travel. Who books ~any~ major client meeting without first checking with the team ?
soo my sleep schedule is effed up, i keep trying to wake up early-ish (7am) but i’m lacking motivation and i wake up tired 😴 i stumbled upon this article that talked about this book. we always hear about the “secret” of strong leaders is that they wake up early. has anyone read this/tried it out? 5 AM Club, The: Own Your Morning. Our senior creative leadership keep talking about winning Cannes Lions and D&AD pencils but none of them have actually won any since 2007 (that’s 14 years 😭 ) and between all three of them they’ve never won more than a couple of silvers, a couple of bronzes and a couple of in-books (that’s with a combined experience of over 60 years 😭). They have no clue 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭. Tell me something about your agency so that I can feel better about the hell-hole I find myself in🙏

Looking for an awesome senior copywriter or ACD who would be interested in making the jump to CD at a good agency in NYC. It will be my first time as a CD so looking for someone with similar experience but with a desire to manage people and lead a team. DM me/your book if this sounds like you 😊
If you’re succeeding on all the right metrics (i.e., leadership loves you, clients love you, you’re participating on pitches, you’ve brought in clients, and you’re set up to inherit a book of business), but you’re still not super into it, being promoted to income partner won’t change things, right? Worth sticking out to see or jumping to go in house at a pre-IPO, late stage startup you find super exciting and interesting?
Beyond 2 lines the text in each post card is cut off. I wonder how many lines in the comment section?
Post-Covid, I just cannot seem to find the inspiration to network at a conference such as the AWS DC summit. I initially wanted to get facetime with vendors to check out potential job openings. But it just feels like a large circle jerk where no productive work gets done. And besides all keynote addresses are recorded and available online anyway. Wondering if anyone out there feels differently or has had better experiences from these events? #aws
Does anyone feel like this thread is a miserable contest where half the posts are just exaggerations by associates who want to feel more important than they actually are?
Confession: I play fake baby noises in the background during meetings so my peers think I have an infant and can have better work-life balance.
Yes, racism in professional service firms exists. I have experienced this firsthand as a Black woman. Absolutely disgusting. If you have a role in recruiting, interviewing, and / or hiring, please take the ethical route. https://nypost.com/2022/05/19/wells-fargo-staged-sham-job-interviews-for-black-female-candidates-report/

Any Mortgage Regulation SMEs (TILA, RESPA, HMDA) out there that want to connect to discuss about an opportunity?!
Serious question — what is with one particular culture’s obsession with dogs? It’s one thing to own pets and like them, another thing to treat them as if they are humans or better and venerate them.

Just had an internal strategy interview. Interviewer, “I’ve never heard of Kearney / AT Kearney. What do they do?” Ex-Deloitte. My fish, are we not well known?
Currently accepted an offer post-internship with KPMG for FS Consulting and have a first round with Deloitte Consulting for the Applications & Program Analyst Role. Curious if anyone has opinions between the two different roles and if it is genuinely worth pursuing Deloitte Consulting (fairly confident I would receive an offer).
