No idea but the discussions on FB are scary and sad at the same time.
I have not heard of single pip. All were lay offs (counseled out). 1st cycle associate here
Layoffs are 0. Let us first understand the difference between layoffs and PIP and CO.
Layoffs happen because of business decisions wherein entire team is wiped out agnostic of individual performance.
PIP - performance improvement plan, is when an individual is performing below expectations and is given 2-4 months time to dhow improvement. Leadership believes there is a scope of improvement
CO - counselled out, means where the individual is asked to leave ZS, either without PIP or after PIP. This means there is no scope left for that individual to show improvement.
Tldr; It's layoffs 100%, sugarcoated as CO.
I knew someone is going to throw this but didn't expect from an AP.
FYI, ZS broke tradition this year by not putting folks on PIP but directly counselling out. This has nothing to do with their performance being worse than all other years but ZS trying to save costs. Princeton OMP also mentioned officially reducing PIP period from 6 months to less for future. Also, ZS doesn't officially have a CO policy except at PAM levels. (Been here since 9+yrs)
It is no secret in the firm this is business influenced. All PAMs are part of Pratap's emails. The bench, the incessant hiring during covid, miscalculation of business demand and reduced focus on BD work from PAMs.
Scary part is, I've heard people performing well also got laid off.
