Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

Wondering what y’all would do to help get management from a 1980 mentality onboard for hybrid schedules? My company has a lot of long-tenured leaders, which is great, but they are living in the past with the lack of flexibility, and we’re losing candidates for openings, as well as starting to have more employees quit because we’re required to be onsite, when a lot of our jobs could be hybrid. What do you think could work?

I’m regularly told that they’re exceeding expectations but then they get reviews that say they’re meeting expectations on a team full of people that do way less than they do? I’ve actually been told that if there was something between meets and exceeds…I’d get that…but there not, so I get the same average performer raise, recognition, etc.

Am I being too judgmental? During the interview process I ask questions that help me identify culture. During my recent interview I directly asked “How would you describe your culture?”, and it was described as “work hard, play hard”. I expected a much more meaningful reply. Thoughts?

Would you take a pay cut (about $7k) to get into HR? I only have experience in training and development (with a masters in HR management), and those jobs are just not coming up. Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general.
