I would love your thoughts on the Remarkable 2. How does it interface with other technology? Has it helped with note-taking? I would love something that I can send straight to my assistant for file management purposes.
I really like my remarkable 2, but it’s important to understand its limitations. Great device for: 1) taking handwritten notes, 2) editing/reviewing in (virtual) hardcopy, and 3) reading longer documents (cases, transcripts, etc) that pre-wfh you would have gotten printed in a binder.
But it’s bad at nearly everything else. No syncing with Dropbox, etc. Too slow to fast skim through a big pdf. Obviously very feature limited compared to an iPad.
But if you just want to take notes and get them to your assistant I think it would be great for that. You can either email the notes straight from the device or have your assistant install the desktop software which cloud-syncs.
Remarkable 2 has changed my life so much. I used to have little notebooks that I would pick up from conferences where I would jot notes when on calls with clients and personal notes too. Eventually, I would run out of paper with one notebook and start another. Now I have two I needed to keep track of. Periodically, I would rip out pages I no longer needed, but I still had these stupid little notebooks all over the place. And, I would find that when I was in the office, the notebook I needed had been left at home or vice versa. Remarkable changed all of that. Organizing notes has never been easier. And, the ability to review your notes on your phone means that even if your Remarkable is not with you, your notes are. One comment I would have is that I find the feature that converts handwritten notes to text to be pretty poor. I have fairly neat handwriting and it rarely gets this right.
This has been exactly my experience.
Love Remarkable! One of the best decisions I made in my legal carer.

Thoughts of remarkable2 versus apple with apple pencil?
I have the iPad Pro and the Remarkable 2 (also had the predecessor). In my opinion, They are just different. The iPad feels like writing on an iPad. The Remarkable actually feels pretty close to writing on real paper. The pencil action is more realistic, in my view. It is super light and the charge lasts a long time. But, it would be nice if it were backlit. If you don’t mind taking notes on the iPad and it’s working for you, I don’t know that I would spend the money on the Remarkable. But, for me, it was a real game changer.
Thanks for the feedback. How do notes get to files or assistants, if so desired?
You can easily email the notes to yourself or others.
Just a follow up on my earlier response. I am 98% satisfied with my Remarkable 2 and would never give it up. But, in addition to thinking the note to text conversion feature does not work particularly well, I am also really frustrated my the weakness of the magnet on the pencil. A mild wind would cause it to break the magnetic connection to the tablet. But, I still love the device.
Do you have a cover on yours? The spine of the cover is on the right side if it is facing down. But, in any event, I took mine out of the cover and tried to find the place you’re talking about. On mine, that does not seem to be any stronger of a magnetic pull than on the same spot on the other side.
I have a question about the Remarkable 2 - is it easier to proofread on it than a computer screen? I always print hard copy to proofread and catch more errors in hard copy. Since I’m on WFH I’d love to minimize printing...
