Any of you get gifts FROM your clients? Once after a review, a client said they wanted to give me a gift and appreciate all I have done for them. Dude pulls out a $500 watch.

If you are RegRep I'm not certain you are allowed to keep that?

You're not allowed to keep it.

Wow that is pretty awesome. Congrats. It always makes me feel good when clients show gratitude for our hard work.

like

@edj1 other way around. You can't gift anything over $100

like

I thought you could also not accept a gift valued at more than $100? Or is that just from vendors/wholesalers?

like

May be bd dependent. Our limit is $25. Def not sure you're allowed to keep that

$100 is the rule!Write up a bill of sale and buy the watch for $1.

I joined IBM around year ago.
i have 9 YOE and i was given band 7A saying its lead role.
However in project i was treated as team member l. Initially i was okay as i thought i will be familiar with environment and later will take more responsibility.
But then they gave me release after few months.
No hike also this year.
Future also seems unclear as i feel low self-esteem seeing collegues my experience earning well and having better roles.
I really think joining IBM was wrong decision.

When you have those tasks that seem never-ending, maybe even repetitive, possibly a multi-day effort (or any other long periodic timeframe), set an "acceptable-for-you" limit where you would feel accomplished when you reach it.

Then, determine your energy levels and decide if you can/want to do more or call it a day.

Example: Setting a limit to how much daily progress you want to make towards a 10-15 page final deliverable for your client.
