I’ve had this card for about four years(I think I got 80k) I’m gonna finally cancel it this year. I should’ve canceled it a couple years ago as I don’t really use it anymore but honestly, it’s not a bad card as it gives three times on groceries and gas and it’s only $95.
I never use the portal and I never use the hotel benefit( I like the Delta AMEX hotel benefit for it better). The biggest issues with this card is I don’t like cities travel partners(besides now AA) especially for hotels and they also don’t seem like they have many transfer bonus offers like Chase and AMEX. Still a decent card to sign up for the bonus and maybe use to supplement your other cards that are less in groceries and gas rewards but I won’t sign up for it unless there is an elevated bonus.
Sorry, I should say I like the Delta AMEX benefit better as it $100 credit for one night since I rarely pay for multiple nights at hotels without using points. Yeah, it sucks. Not being able to use the loyalty perks at Marriott but it’s only one night so not a big deal. I’m not sure if you can get loyalty purchased in the city travel but if you can, I guess it makes it a decent deal
Spouse has full suite of Citi cards: double cash, custom cash, AA, premier, and now elite. Double cash and now elite are pulled out the most.
Bang for buck though, Premier has pretty similar levels of purchase protections and those intangible benefits as Elite for a fraction of the price.
