I usually would take cabs home because EVERYONE else is upstairs waiting 20-30 mins for their Uber, can line was short or non existent
Yea the cabs are slightly less than Uber black and old but no wait. I do the same thing at ewr and ord
it doesn’t get bad until late afternoon. and as bad as it is during the evening, it’s even worse at night. other than the traffic it’s ok.
If you’re platinum on Uber you can get one very quickly. As far as the traffic at LAX, no real way around it but past 8:30 pm on weekdays you should be good. Friday there’s always more traffic, and same with Sunday evenings.
Just expect the worst at any time and let it go. Think of it as an adventure ride. Basically an attitude adjustment: turn that frown upside down.
-get precheck
-get clear
-leave extra time to get there (traffic is 2x non-traffic for me, and there is always traffic)
-Uber there, cab home
-cab drivers generally will expect you to give them directions to your destinatio; you should insist they put your address in a GPS before you leave if you don't want to do that. I've had them ask me to use my phone for GPS a couple times.
-make sure you know your terminal. if you ask for Delta, they could take you to terminal 2, even if you leave from terminal 3. American and united also have 2 terminals.
-one of Americans terminals is remote and you need extra time to get there in a shuttle from the main terminal. this is the only time I've ever missed a flight.
-there is always traffic, don't get in a hurry.
