If you’re working from home: take a ten minute dance break. It sounds crazy but I swear it really reenergizes me. Also, drink more water than you’re drinking now.

Good diet and regular exercise helps me. I still (ab)use caffeine everyday though.

Meth.

Get some exercise in first thing in the morning, right after you wake up. It really gets the blood pumping and I find the effects last all day.

Take a big lunch - but don’t eat a big lunch. Then take a big dinner - but don’t eat a big dinner. Actually taking a real, true, large break a few times a day where you also get up and walk around besides turning off your work can help you stay more productive longer. Working 15 hours straight with no break is reducing your energy, efficiency, and probably your accuracy significantly. Plus, those breaks help you accomplish personal things that sometimes slide to the side because you are otherwise still busy. It does stretch your day out, but you will accomplish more. So, hopefully you can have three long days and three normal days (or even short days?) per week.

Eat more protein and go for walks at least 20 mins. Protein rec is usually .5-1g per 1lb of body weight, closer to 1 if you are active.

First year Paralegal here - graduated from a small liberal arts school and have been working in the corporate practice at a well ranked firm. The majority of my experience has been working in private funds, financings, some M&A, and limited Real Estate work. I think I enjoy the idea of a few years in big law after law school to pay off loans (undergrad+law school), but am not sold b/c I have been remote since I started in January and rarely get to interact live with deal teams. How can I tell?

I joined Deloitte in 19’ and don’t buy into the circlejerk that seems to go on both for / against the company - I like being a part of the firm but am underwhelmed with where the recent compensation cycle resulted. I have an opportunity with a small business to get a roughly $45k salary increase, but would have 2 sacrifice the security of Deloitte, wfh and paternity leave, which will come into play this fall as we have a baby due in November. Anyone make a similar switch before or havethoughts?

hey all, i’m 3 years into my career. some decent work produced, some awards (mostly student). after getting laid off last fall and many many applications and emails sent, I’ve decided to spend time and money on a creative PR stunt to get my dream agencies’ attention. Hi, where or what types of companies should sophomores & juniors apply for next summer (2022) to recruit for IB the following summer (2023)? This summer BBs wrapped up SA IB recruitment, EBs even earlier, and a fair amount of my friends missed out big time. Also, if a sophomore or junior doesn’t get a finance-related summer internship (I.e tech) and aims for an IB SA or FT position, is it harder to break in? Appreciate any advice and insight, thank you.

How long did you wait between interview rounds? I had my first R1 interview in may, and found out around Memorial Day that I was moving on to the next round. Since that day, I’ve followed up a few times (1x every 2-3 weeks) but it’s been radio silent. The Hiring Manager who I have spoken to said I’m still on their candidate list. I know the process at Google takes awhile, but wondering if I should continue to follow up/if this is an indication. It’s for a Pgm role in GCP
