If you’re working from home: take a ten minute dance break. It sounds crazy but I swear it really reenergizes me. Also, drink more water than you’re drinking now.

Good diet and regular exercise helps me. I still (ab)use caffeine everyday though.

Get some exercise in first thing in the morning, right after you wake up. It really gets the blood pumping and I find the effects last all day.

like

Take a big lunch - but don’t eat a big lunch. Then take a big dinner - but don’t eat a big dinner. Actually taking a real, true, large break a few times a day where you also get up and walk around besides turning off your work can help you stay more productive longer. Working 15 hours straight with no break is reducing your energy, efficiency, and probably your accuracy significantly.

Plus, those breaks help you accomplish personal things that sometimes slide to the side because you are otherwise still busy. It does stretch your day out, but you will accomplish more. So, hopefully you can have three long days and three normal days (or even short days?) per week.

Adderall.

ADD meds... especially if you have ADD.

Eat more protein and go for walks at least 20 mins. Protein rec is usually .5-1g per 1lb of body weight, closer to 1 if you are active.

Does anyone have any tips on virtual interviews and how to gauge the culture of the firm and if it really will be a good fit for you? I’m struggling to figure out that out because I used to gauge it on the feeling I got while in their office during interviews. Any suggestions would be helpful :)

Does anyone have resources on understanding whether/how legal advocacy matters, how it actually achieves what it purports to achieve? Been doing this nearly 5 years now and just really don’t see how all the effort is worth it. I don’t get the sense that outcomes are impacted by skill level, work quality, time spent. Seems you can make your client’s case worse (e.g., by missing a deadline or some egregious error), but that’s about it. So, practice of law feels quite pointless. What am I missing?
