Best hotel in NOLA? Booking my parents a weekend getaway for my Dad’s birthday. Prefer to go with to Starwood, Marriott or Hyatt properties. Thanks
F-1 expiring in March, but currently on OPT STEM for the next 2 years. My company’s headquarter is in Paris, so thinking about traveling to Paris to renew my F-1 (third country). Has anyone here done something similar? Is it too risky to travel while on OPT to renew F1? Thanks :)
Interested in your opinions. Last year I took a government job. Before I was working as an independent consultant and netting more - obviously without pension and benefits though. (Lost work due to pandemic.) With extra medical expenses this year (outside of government insurance) I realize I’m simply not making enough money to do what I want and need to to (medical + travel + investing). Everyone tells me to stay for security and WLB.
Can anyone guide is it a right decision to move out from Accenture to join kpmg global services though Accenture provide several perks. Please advise, will it be a right move?
This week's announcements suck for SPG and AA loyal travelers. 2016: SPG is going away and AAdvantage program is changing for the worst.
I work as an Aircraft Technician, apart from gaining maintenance license from different countries, what else should I do to climb up the ranks. I am thinking to go for Masters in dont know what and also PMP courses. Do you think this is worth it in some way. I can switch to Aircraft maintenance planning later but will these endeavours help my cause in the future. Afterall, all this requires hefty financing which will be regretful if went without a fruitful reward. Emirates GE
Any tips for flying with a guitar in a hard case? I have United 1K for reference, but I’ve never done this before. I’ll check United’s site for what I have to do to check this in but any wisdom/advice on traveling with a guitar is appreciated
Is it worth to ask the credit card company to increase the credit limit? My current debt to credit utilization is around 25%. The goal is to lower the % and improve the credit score.

Overnight flight delay on American due to defect. I paid 300 for a hotel room expecting American to reimburse. They are offering 20k, 200 voucher, & $120 check. AA is refusing to reimburse full 300.

I recently moved teams due a better fit with my skills and a big org change at our company. I have been working for the company for 2+ years—longer than most at our org, and have contributed a ton to the company re: customer retention, conversion, etc. During this move and under a new manager is it a good time to ask about a promotion? I was debating waiting until after I am in the role for a few months, but no time like the present, right?
How do I decline drinks politely but suggest a phone call instead - trying to be safe with Covid and also we haven't even talked on the phone yet, so drinks in this situation seems pretty quick..even though it would be normal pre Covid.
Is it possible to make a million in any sales position? I see so many classes and books on how to be a millionaire by selling. Seems like BS.
What do the exit ops for people at Kearney look like? Is it relatively easy to switch into industry after 3-4 years at the firm ?
Got covid from the UK , double vaxxed , and symptoms are wildly atrocious. Everyday I have different issues. I went from no fever to 102.4 in a couple of minutes. Blood oxygen dropped dangerously low and bounced back in a few minutes. Chills , cold sweats. My newest one is that my legs are so achey and sore it feels like they were beaten with a bat , just nonstop pain and can’t sleep. Anyone else experience these? Pretty sure I’d be hospitalized at a minimum without the vax
Potty training question for 21 mo- I am reading Oh Crap potty training & trying to find time to do this over a LONG weekend probably Thanksgiving as it will give me a good lead of one month to practice with my child. In the meanwhile, her daycare has started teaching potty training. When home my LO removes pants, goes and sits on potty by herself when she thinks she wants to pee with the diaper on as that is not something she can remove easily. What approach do you think is the best here?
Finally able to afford healthcare & time off work after years of pain. Doc tells me my body has experienced irreversible degeneration. My heart breaks for lower class Americans who can't afford help.

Can you tell me how much salary you earn (ANNUAL) and what’s your 401k contribution (per PAYCHECK) !? Just want to get an idea if my contribution is very less or okay. Mine: 137K, $368.
I feel completely lost at work. I started at a new company 1 month ago and got put on a client that’s just as confused as I am. I’m only associate level (with a little experience from my last firm) but I feel like I’m “in charge” of this audit. I feel like nothing on the audit has been done and I’m soooo nervous for manager review. Wtf do I do?! I’m so overwhelmed.
Let’s say you want to stay at PwC, but not make partner. Would you leave at manager and move to a manager role? Or would you leave at manager and get the next highest level?
Maybe I have this completely wrong but it looks like NY (state + city) taxes on bonus are 18% now? Combined with federal and fica etc, that's almost half my bonus. Where th is all the money going!? 🤷🏾😡🤬
I was so good and confident when I was interviewing with consulting firms. Now that I am here for something close to two months, I am really struggling. Struggling to piece together coherent questions and thoughts. Struggling to speak up. Team structure is weird - no one has the bandwidth to address dumb questions, feel like I’m lost without good guidance. Overall this is not good for anyone wanting to be successful in consulting. Any thoughts or advice? Is this the initial phase, gets better?
Do McK / Bain do lateral manager hires? If so, is there an active pipeline or more based on specific group / office need? And what’s the most effective way to apply (ie how critical is a referral)?
Ladies - going to negotiate a payrise next week. Received an unsatisfactory (<$2k) bump with promotion. Getting offers $60k above current pay from industry. Am nervous... Any tips / anecdotes? TIA 🙏
