I know for litigation they are more clearly valued and linked to that type of work, but I have reconsidered my interests and now am thinking of going into corp. However, I don’t want to feel like I wasted 2 years clerking (which I don’t feel like that, but I have to convince an employer of that too). Any help or insight?

Is it hard to have respect for people’s time and their schedule? Reschedule once I can understand. But twice is just stupidity. I hope AI wipes out all bad recruiters who don’t give af. What is a simple way to explain to my boyfriend that investing in equity with an expected return of 10% is better than paying off debt that is growing at a rate of 6%. He has student loans and is adamant that he wants to pay all of them off immediately before saving any retirement money. So I’m only contributing to 401k enough to get employer match, and I’m saving an additional ~20% and putting 90% of that into my vanguard mutual funds. Reasoning is that I don’t want to lock away all that money maxing out 401k. Have 3 months expenses liquid in a savings account. Is this really dumb? Essentially trading tax for the option of actually using my money.

A quick note about what I’ve experienced, in my decade long career, is the real advantage of MBB or FAANG - it gives you a shot at stretch roles that are outside your expertise. Not all the time or even most of the time compared to better candidates with specific experience for the role but gives you this wildcard shot at a vast array of opportunities.
