As realtors, our worst and best friend are the contractors, being friends with the contractor that remodelled a home you are going to sell is a plus because you can know for sure what kind of improvements were made to the house and why; and what kind of things are pending to be improved, that way you can provide real information to the client. You know what they say: a happy client always comes back to you.

I realized I've been a dummy for getting a job at a creative agency and not working on my portfolio. Most of the projects I've taken on, I've done so as a way to support others without taking much credit for it. Now, a better opportunity came along and I don't have anything to show for my talent as a designer. ALWAYS take credit for what you do, even if it's not your project to begin with.

I'm trying to frame my answer to the leadership question. I once talked to my mom about how I was selected as CEO in a group project. It was because of my strong technical skills+connections(I already know 80% of the group)+activeness. My mom said that's exactly what she values in the professional setting. Can I answer the question in this way during interviews? I feel like it's not the common approach since this answer does not involve any specific actions, but could potentially stand out.

I m into QA as functional test planner for more than two years and now i m mood to change my role to automation, but after certification in selenium and Tosca my lead was not able to provide me the project based on automation so they are rolling me off from the project. I am signing an offer this week at a different consulting firm, but want to stick it out through my project at my current firm over the next month. (Actually really enjoy the project just think the other firm is a better fit).

Am I obligated (morally or otherwise) to tell my firm that I’ve signed another offer? Or is it ok to stay on and work?

(Don’t have to start at the new firm for another month after that).

i’m on a project where i’m working with an outdated data analytics language called SAS and i am not trying to stay and get stuck with this. i’m thinking about learning python or javascript to try and exit. i just don’t see how this project could help me in the future

At what point do you draw the line on WLB? Working insane hours on a long/term project with what feels like no end in sight. It’s not sustainable but clearly expected. Could you get fired for drawing lines in the sand and saying (example) “come 8:30 every night I’m logging off”. That’s a 65 hour work week as-is but I currently am up until midnight working consistently. For context I’ve been rated as a strong performer consistently and am not new to the job so it’s not a lack of understanding.
