If you can't work with people who have other ideologies than yourself then you need to grow up. If you are uncomfortable with political talk then respectfully say so. In reality life is full of uncomfortable situations. If YOU allow someone's words to affect your productivity then you should take a long hard look at yourself. You are the master of yourself and your own actions and thoughts. No one else. Stop expecting everyone to accommodate you.
EY he has already announced his proposal for protected maternity leave and announced his 100 day plan (before he was even elected). I would be interested if you see any silver linings if you read his intentions. Ultimately, as I said your argument that a vote for Trump is a vote for racial prejudice is false considering there are many people who voted for both Obama and Trump. Yes there are people who vote based on racial prejudices. Ex: The leader of the Black Panthers in Detroit stated that if you would have asked him 10 years ago if he ever would have voted for a white man to be mayor of the city of Detroit he would have laughed in your face. He then stated that the need to fix Detroit was greater than the color of the person who fixes Detroit. He voted for Mike Duggan, a white male and Detroit as a people voted beyond color that election. Racial prejudices transcend all races. The key is to educate ourselves to look beyond those racial prejudices to see what a person can do for the good. Yes, he has racial groups supporting him, but if you look beyond the medias bastardization of Trump voters you will see a whole group of people who have been forgotten about in our country who had enough of unfulfilled promises and took a chance voting for the opposite of the status quo. We all need to expand our microcosm and realize that there are people all over the country of all different colors who have been disenfranchised and have asked for help.
As someone who voted for Hillary, no I do not and get out of here with that shit
lol you're an idiot, OP
Wow. The tolerant left here. I voted for Trump. Please come fire me so I can sue your commie ass.
It's a democracy. You're entitled to your views, however wrong I think they may be.
Grow up
Please grow up.
OP, my family is from a country where bad mouthing political figures could have your whole family murdered or tortured. It is because America is such a great country with its democratic society that will always make it so great. And before you all start talking shit, I am a Hillary supporter and American citizen. I am not going anywhere lolz.
Voted for Hillary too. What's done is done, move on and accept it. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and you need to respect that. If you don't you're only making this harder for yourself and everyone on your team.
OP, as a Hillary supporter, you are complicit with and support white collar crime. You should lose your job.
Oh snowflake grow up
Please don't say that
Hmmm...economically punishing someone for their political beliefs? How has that historically worked out?
Yes, if you are not mature enough to discuss different beliefs then it is time to excuse yourself or choose not to listen. If your team is saying truly racist things (look up the definition) or degrading you as a person by creating an unsafe environment (threatening to kill you) of course you don't have to stand for that. If you think that someone's vote makes them a scary person that embodies everything that is wrong in the world then you need to expose yourself outside of your microcosm. I have been the minority in groups. I know people who voted for Obama and voted for Trump. Your jump to firing someone because of their vote is a 1984/dictator type mentality. If we are to truly understand others..not change them, but understand and try to maintain human decency then you have to stop trying to force everyone who doesn't have the same belief system into your little definition of what is right or wrong. Open your mind and realize that someone's words only have power if you allow it to. Whether the message is positive or negative. Good luck.
Looks like you're alone on this one, OP. Time to just take yourself offline.
You can't even see the irony here OP, can you?
"Since when did having different opinions make someone their enemy". Pretty much sums up my feelings about this election. Much like how we can't make blanket statements about race, gender, etc. we cannot make blanket statements about either political party and why they chose to support a particular candidate . Keep an open mind and try to learn from the other side.
No. the process works because we have rights to our opinions. I voted for HRC and I don't need to see anyone fired because they voted for the Donald. It does no one any good to have other people out of work.
@OP there are many reasons people may have voted for Trump. It's a fine line though, because Trump has expressed views that - if we say them ourselves - would likely get us fired. But unless people cross that line, they're entitled to their political beliefs.
