Not sure if this is lawful either, but would recommend free rapid testing at a Walgreens or CVS in your area. Would your employer be ok with that?
I am sure I was unable to get appointment at my 5th day post exposure. I had to pay last year as well and the rapids where way more expensive.
Definitely not. In fact we no longer require a test at all after exposure.
I would read the Covid policy for your job. I work for two employers one provides me with Covid test because it’s mandatory for me to test before I go into work once a week because I’m vaccinated (The regulation for us is twice a week if you are not either way they provide the test) my other employer does testing the same way but General rule if you’re exposed in the community you should be able to get tested for free but I would still look at your employers rules on getting paid while waiting for a test to come back they’re very backed up right now
Thanks I was able to get a PCR no problem but on day 5 post exposure I was told I needed to do an at home rapid before coming to work. I was just curious to see who else required employees to pay out of pocket. Last December I had to so the same thing pay for a rapid while waiting for my PCR to process. Lucky for me this one was only $25 dollars as opposed to the $100 I paid for last year. My director has been historically cheap. I know this and am actively seeking alternative employment
I am required to produce a negative test to go back into the field after testing positive Monday 12/27. I realize that I could test positive for 90 days so I am unsure what happens if I continue to test positive for an extended period of time.
Mine is also due to supply shortages at our facility and lack of staff to conduct testing. If the home test is positive we have to call employee health to see if we are "permitted" to getting a PCR with them or if we need to follow up elsewhere.
As of just recently if you turn in the receipt for the purchase of a home Covid test, insurance companies will reimburse you. And get on the government Covid test site and order 4 tests for free. This just became available.
