My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

Most of your trials as a young prosecutor are about 4hrs long and arent terribly complex. We love the courtroom experience but realize how green you'll be. It's good but doesn't exactly mean firms will fight eachother for you. Now if you've done it for many years that's a little better but civil trials are still a different animal.
It has translated for me. I was at a prosecutor's office then the public defender's and racked up a bunch of trials before switching to private family law. The rules of evidence for family law are relaxed in my state so I was able to compare my criminal trial experience to family law and negotiate a higher salary/knock some years off their "required" family law experience for the job
I’ll be going from a big firm to the prosecutor’s office. Not sure if I’m interested in ever returning to big law, but I think PI work would be fantastic if I ever wanted to return to private practice.
I went from public defender to civil firm, and while I haven’t gotten further than motions in limine (because everything settled), I have found the skills to be quite transferable. Depositions and motions practice are plenty similar.
I also worked for both the DA and PD offices and did a number of trials, prelims as well as L&M matters. The courtroom skills definitely transfer and don’t let anyone tell you differently. Knowing how to move exhibits into evidence is the same both in civil and criminal (at least it is in CA) and picking a jury is a task that few get to do, so if you’ve done that you’re way ahead of the game.
