I currently work for an agency based in DC and my boss is forcing us to come back into the office fulltime after we’ve been remote for nearly two years. Majority of my coworkers have already left for the private sector but I’d like to remain in the public.

So I just started a new job in sales (B2B specifically). All my life I’ve been in blue collar jobs, military, then construction work ect. I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.

This is absurd. Am I missing some “new way” of doing things? Your take?

I've decided to leave public for an Accounting Manager position in private. What are the different types of companies to consider and the pros/cons? What are the best ways to get the position? I'm leaning toward GL accounting at a publicly-traded company. My background is 3.5 years audit and 2.5 years technical accounting advisory.

I'm TC2 at Deloitte w. 2 YOE and MAcc. Working on CPA exam. Some of my team peers moved to Capital One as Senior Business Analyst and it seemed good to me too. Recently I was contact by Cap One. The recruiter asked me if I'm interested in- Analyst/ Associate/ Risk Manager roles at Commercial bank (related to real estate or credit). Those roles require 1-3 YOE, but not Master's or CPA. Does anyone know if above positions are as competitive as SBA?
