If Tech Mahindra HR is telling that after joining he will take care of onsite. It is US project. So in U4 Tech Lead position is it possible to send someone US onsite in L1/business Visa?? This on this logic? He recommends buying Christmas presents now, any items you plan to stock up on or need in the short/mid term future now, etc. Not saying something drastic is imminent but global supply chains issues are causing localized outages or shortages on a variety of things and market pricing is adjusting (inflation, demand, higher wages) so if you can afford and can find things you want maybe it makes sense to stock up now.

C&M - Wow. Your organization is backwards from a security standpoint. It is a major red flag and easy to track. With all the ransomware attacks these days, you better believe me they’re watching.
This will be the same person complaining when they get fired saying it’s not fair and I didn’t do anything wrong.

Look at digital nomad/expat forums. People here are correct that it is complicated for tax (and health insurance) reasons. You are correct that most people who do this, do so under a “don’t ask, don’t tell” approach assuming that nobody’s going to catch them or bother tracking them down. People here are correct that most major companies can and will track this and it will more likely become an issue. Most people who do this consistently are freelance or run their own business.
I did this for 6 months in 2017. Gave up my US apartment and spent some time in Eastern Europe and Mexico. Was working remote with a Europe-based team at the time, so cleared it with my line manager ahead of time (similar time zone = more productivity). Moved around quite a bit, but it was annoying to feel like I was missing out on the local scene by working so much.
I can speak the local language, so that helped out… otherwise I imagine daily life might have been a bit complicated.
No tax implications since I was still employed in the US and ostensibly on an extended business trip.
Saved a ton of money.
Do it only if you are ready to walk away and lose your job (and depending on your industry, if it won’t damage your reputation). Be sure to have the savings to support that scenario (preferably a year of living expenses if you are abroad) and a plan when/where/how to get a new source of income. Depending on how happy you are with your work, it is definitely worth the savings that you can achieve abroad, even if you end up loosing your job (again depends on what you have on the line to loose, i.e. reputation if you are working in a close knit industry). So, that is one question for you to evaluate. The other is the tax implications that others have mentioned. Each country has their own income and tax laws, so you need to find a tax consultant in that country to know the rules. In most cases you become a tax resident of the country if you spend more than 180 days in that country and you owe income tax, regardless where your company (and source of income) is and regardless of the fact that you may already be paying tax in the US. Give it some good thought on the trade-offs, your risk tolerance levels, do the math, inform yourself (know the local residency and tax rules as well as what your responsibilities are for tax authorities back home), be wise, make a solid plan, make a better backup plan and enjoy it! Most companies who use consultants track where their system is being accessed from. Is your job not worth enough to verify it is allowed?
