Best SPG or Marriott in San Francisco?
PwC A recruiter from PWC reached out to me to ask if I’d consider a different office the one I applied to, since it’s full. It would be Boston, Hartford, Chicago, Minneapolis, Little Rock, Denver, San Francisco or San Jose. MSA candidate. Is there a fully remote option? Do you have to be in the office all the time? Is the compensation high at PWC? Is there a possible moving expenses? Any insight or advice would help me make a decision. Thank you!

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I took an uber in San Jose, only once but it was a great experience. They found my hotel in a remote area and knew exactly where to go.. cheap too
They are ok in CR, the lack of real addresses in CR are a problem if your destination is someone's house though.
The addresses in CR are all by reference. I was there on a project for a year, and it's just like what Associate 1 explained: 200 meters east from the church, 300 meters north from the post office, next to the yellow house. Some even add that you should ask about your destination at the corner bakery.
Oh and be ready for terrible traffic jams in the San Jose area. It would take up to an hour to drive the 4 km from my hotel to my client site at 8 am, so we got into a habit of leaving the hotel by 6:45 am.
A few of us were there last month, we all used it without any trouble
Never used it in Costa Rica, but it's great in Panama, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. I would assume Costa Rica is similar.
Works with no issues ...they also speak reasonably English
How does CR not have real addresses....
What ever you do don't take a taxi in SJ. They will gouge and scam the shit out of you.
@D1 it'd be like "that old house next to the post office"...but that post office burned down 30 years ago and your just supposed to know that's what it means.
Thanks for all the shared thoughts - this will be very helpful!
It's perfect. Way better than taking a cab. Now be warned though, when we went to CR we asked a driver if they were our uber driver and he said he was. Then once we got to our destination he said he wasn't a part of uber but a black cab. Dude was kinda scary so we paid for it. Just double check it's your driver.
Get a rental car that's what I did when I was in CR
