It depends, what are you giving up to achieve this and is that worth it? 30 is just a number.

I didn’t even start in consulting until I was almost 31... not trying to discourage you at all, best of luck to you, but age is just a number and focusing on totally arbitrary goals seems like a recipe for unnecessary stress.
I’m sorry but I don’t think you are ready to be a manager. Better wait till you are 30+

I’m at a B4 now, but was MBB before — 8.5 years from MBA equivalent to partner is actually on the slow side of normal for those firms
Im 24 and a C, goal is to be M at 26 :)
^yasss A2 💯
My wife just made SM at 30 while I made SM at 34 before exiting for 1.5x TC. To each his own
Senior Manager at 29. So it’s totally doable
Manager at 29 after 1.5 years consulting, about to make SM at almost 32 🤞🏼

Does it matter? Don’t let age diminish the achievements you reach. It’s nothing but destructive thinking.
Also, I’m going to assume you’re at Deloitte. You can’t compare a manager at Accenture, PWC or EY across with Deloitte - not saying anyone is better or worse - but each firm has very different guidelines and expectations. As someone who has experienced Accenture and Deloitte, the latter tends to be harder. But that’s my perspective, not a fact
Additionally, I’ve seen Ms who made it by 26/27, and I’ve also seen a lot of them exit because it became too much. It’s not about getting there, it’s about maintaining it.
Relax. Achieve. Enjoy.
There will be many more hills to climb. Not a sprint.
Lol Ik people in Strategy who made manager by 26/27. Its def possible
Damn that's really good!
it literally doesnt matter in the long run. don't fret over small things like that, you've still got 20+ years to "work" somewhere.
It is absolutely possible. I am 26 and would become a manager at 28 if I didn’t leave for the MBA next year.
Since I am leaving for the MBA, I’ll become manager about ~2 months before turning 30.
I’m on track for manager at 25
Start working a couple years earlier than most. Im far younger than my peers but “ageism” has never stopped me.
I made manager at 28 which was pretty commonplace.
Very dependent on your specific firm though
