Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

you give them your current and expected salary in writing
112.5k-120k
What's a good increase to ask for, moving to industry as a program manager. I currently make a 100k.
Not sure what their bonus structure is like, but I'd be asking for 160 all in
See if you can connect w/ current Amazon employees that have Big Four experience (on LinkedIn). Feel them out and ask their advice on the best approach for answering the 'expected salary' question. Don't even ask about reporting current salary. If you choose to report more than your actual salary, keep that to yourself. I suggest you report the actual amount or total compensation amount the firm cites for you (incl other benefits). Just be sure you tie it to a number you can validate later, just in case.
I have heard so much strange shit about Amazon that is out there like this. Crazy.
Why I declined the offer
On the one hand I hate when they ask on the other hand I'd rather get it out of the way. I do t want to lateral or talk to you for less money in 90% of circumstances
Following because that's a really interesting talent acquisition move.
EY2 🙄 Thanks.
Give it them, but include your compensatory portion of your salary 😉
They absolutely already know roughly what you make, consulting salaries are easy enough to find out, just be honest
Add 30-40% on top. Your 401k and network is worth more than you know
1million dollars
Thanks 🐠fam!
^ and if you find a current Amazon employee, inquire of this by phone, NOT in writing.
At least 20% increase plus at least match if not improvement on other negotiable benefits. I've never had to accept a new job with less than a 20% raise and have always been able to match vacation. Don't forget to negotiate in any additional equity (restricted options / bonuses / etc) that you may be foregoing by making a move.
I interviewed with them.
I told them what I made, knowing I would make less in salary and in total. With Amazon they structure comp very differently and really you have to look at your four year projected income given stock vesting and their bonus/sign on/2 year bonus model.
Be very careful when talking to them about compensation. My friend took a job from them out of undergrad and the way they do it is let's say you get $100K base + 40K equity vested over 4 years, so 1st year comp is $100K base + $10K stock. Let's say they peg you for $130K total comp second year based on the market. In the year since you've been working there, your stock has grown to be worth $15K +10K vesting this year. They would only increase your base to $105K so that your total comp is $130K. Yes very unusual but that's what's happened with friends who worked there.
^that is ridiculous... they're double counting your first year comp? And if they count stock appreciation, that defeats the whole point of equity upside. Weird - thanks for sharing
