New to the Bowl, greetings to all. I have a question for the sales leaders in the group about the design of sales comp plans. We are in professional services and our customers are about 50:50 retained and project-based. As such, we have an appetite for steady new business acquisition in addition to a need to provide excellent account management. Our gigs are usually in the 150K-750K range. Our BD process is very consultative, 99% of our leads are inbound. <more...>
Is it normal to have no idea when your roll off date is? Project keeps getting extended and my PM won’t tell me when I’m rolling off, but would like to start looking for other projects..
left industry 3 mo ago b/c I liked tech consulting (solving problems and moving on). First assignment is a multi year staff aug project (I’m obligated to for a year). Valid reason to leave so soon?
How to avail those 15 k wfh reimbursement amount
I constantly get talked down in this new team, I hate everything about this project and I can’t take it anymore. I am a single mom and I am very depressed out of this situation. I am about to quit right now, I am all in tears and don’t know what to do. I always try my best and feel like nothing is good enough. I can’t have insurance for my baby, what should I do 😭😭
Have a potential freelance to full time offer coming in that I’m excited about. Small company. The project manager emailed me asking my day rate and full time salary desires but...
Ever been on a project where the project lead is hungry for car rental points and would let anyone else book it, even if it's inconvenient
Do Deloitte MDs have the same golf / social club reimbursement benefit that Partners / Principals have?
What does everyone think about RSMs healthcare consulting practice? Worth making a change?
Did any US citizens move successfully to Europe? I have a medical thing, as a freelancer I can’t afford healthcare here, and I’m afraid I will become broke and homeless living in NYC. I want a better quality of life, and to just live while I still have time...
Rolled off a really cool team member off my engagement this week. It really sucked to see them go. Client was a turd. Will try to do better for them next time. And I hope theres a next time
Hi MBB fish, trying to make a leap from a boutique consulting firm focused on healthcare, 6 years of experience. Is anyone willing to have a chat with me on how such a transition might work? I'm US-based.

Thinking of maximizing travel points/benefits from my credit cards. What is the best card(s) to use? NA based mostly traveling using Marriott properties and AA/United flights. Solving for most redeemable points for travel (hotel and flights), ok paying annual fees.
Non-US / UK consulting partners - I have been long following the posts here. What I realise is that the US partners feel very strongly that being a B4 partner is best opportunity once could have (maybe just followed by FAANG). With the $1M+ pay and a pension, potentially it makes a lot of sense. With no pensions and some of start ups, Tech companies paying more in other countries, global roles (vs local focus) - what are your views about considering opportunities outside B4
WWYD: 35 years old. Just started aggressive savings couple yrs ago (started career non profit, then mba and then paying loans off). Cautious to keep dumping money into s&p since so much I put in was during aggressive growth of last 1.5 yrs. Currently $400k in 401k (all equities, mostly US), $130k in brokerage (85% us equities, 15% intl), about to put $20k (me plus partner) in iBonds. Have $175k cash (recent bonus mostly). Need $30k for wedding soon, then keep emergency fund. So ~$100k..WWYD?
So, Trump is giving corporations a 20% tax break and is taking away the tax benefit of contributing to your 401k. So he effectively took our money and gave it to corporations. Take that middle class.
Hi fishes, Just wanted to know work life culture in publicis. Got selected and I’m in a confusion on seeing glassdoor reviews.
Any one else here do tenant work in NYC, or come from a legal services background? My S/O has 15 years of experience at the big legal services providers (LAS, UJC, BxD) and has finally taken my advice to just go for it and start his own practice. Native Spanish speaker. From what I’ve seen here, having a niche area is good so I think he’s well placed. Any guidance on transitioning into this space?
Any foster moms out there? I’m curious if companies provide parental leave to support new fostering relationships? Have your companies been supportive of the time commitment during work hours?

What would you do ? 26 years old, work 9 to 9, work weekends, take an extra load because you can to get to the next promotion. Or work normal hours, workout, enjoy time with family, advance normally.
Unexpectedly leaving consulting for industry. Background isn’t in apparel but got an offer to join a large international apparel company as a product director and decided to make the jump. Current TC is $183k with annual bonus between 10-20%. New TC will be $200k, $50k signing, annual bonus of 15-40%, and progression path to VP. Will also be managing teams around the world, so opportunity to travel internationally, which is a perk in my book.
How did you guys learn to financial model when you first got put on a project that used it? My eyes popped outta my head looking at this...
My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Anyone work at McKesson that can provide insight on company/role for the Business Process Consultant position.
What are your thoughts on negotiating a salary for an internal promotion? My boyfriend thinks that I absolutely have to negotiate, but I’m inclined to just accept the first offer... am I doing myself a disservice?
Can anyone provide some insight on what it’s like to work in the legal department at a FAANG? Very curious to learn more about comp, WLB, types of matters, etc.
Currently recruiting with Deloitte GPS for a Design position. Hoping for some advice with the process especially what they’re looking for technically 😩 Deloitte

Is anyone familiar with Bain’s BCN team? What’s it like working for them? What are the benefits/perks like? Working as a consultant at another firm right now, and I’m being considered for a manager on commercial excellence. What things should I consider? Thanks!Bain & Company
I am in the process of transferring internally to EYP, but received an offer from a small/boutique financial consulting firm with a 30% bump in base comp (and a significant bonus at year end). I was never planning on staying in consulting for longer than a couple more years, but how much is the brand at EYP going to benefit me in the future vs a relatively unknown (but reputable) firm focusing on a niche market? I am extremely conflicted.
Current open roles at EPAM (growing software engineering firm) below. DM me if you are interested/would like a referral. All roles are remote and open to global applicants!
Currently onboarding to a new role, at a global bank, and they are asking for a termination letter from a previous consulting employer from 2 years ago. I provided the background check company proof that I was eligible for unemployment since I did not get fired; it was due to performance, too technical for me. However I do not have any letter stating why I was let go. I have been requesting a letter for over 2 weeks from the employer but they’re not answering. Do I have to provide this ?
