I just found out that the most senior SEO specialist at my company ( technically SEO Manager title ) is making barely 6 figures. Am I crazy or is that unbelievably low? He’s a good friend of mine, and I always took his ranting on being underpaid as him just complaining, but I recently saw the company comp ladder for his position and he’s maxed out at 109k TC.

Just got verbal offer for a position im really interested in . TC would be at least 30 k more, which I’m happy about. In all honesty I wasn’t looking for a new job. Tips for negotiating a salary you’re already happy with ? Is there a rule of thumb to ask for 10 k more ? Clearly I’ll take all the money I can , but I don’t want to be too greedy and miss out.

Can you negotiate your salary bump when you get a promotion? Have never been in the position before but hoping one’s around the corner soon...

Why do some threads call a 27 year old making 500k a humble brag, where in every salary thread by 30 most people are well over 1mil? It seems by 8YOE you should be close to 1mil if you're on track?

MBB or VC? -VC is a name brand but smaller early stage investor (definitely not Sequoia/A16z; $500M assets) -Post-MBA level at both. Data science at both if it matters (data science consultant at MBB; data science expert running DD/value creation at VC) -Comp yr 1 is same, but upward trajectory at VC is way less set in stone -I find the space the VC plays in interesting but I am not dead set on staying there or VC in general. Am a little worried about "wasting" 2 yrs if I reapply to MBB anyway

Negotiations ? - assumed an offer was coming from Company A, when it arrived it didn’t completely match talks, turns out recruiter was creative and now total comp package is 14% off target.
