Anyone knows what happened to associates who needed visa sponsorship during the 08' financial crisis? Currently a 3L international student and will be joining a firm that will sponsor H1B lotteries twice and relocate on a case by case basis. I am a bit worried that I would be the first one to meet the axe if shit hits the fan, even more so than 08' because H1B lotteries have much lower odds nowadays.

My partner will be traveling often to London, once a month for an year starting September. He is getting his visa through work (10 years, multiple entry, 6 months max stay, cost some $1000).

I have applied for standard tourist visa in the past and they are usually short term. It could be max 6 months, but they see your itinerary and allocate you few months around the itinerary
